We are seeking an experienced NOC Linux Specialist to join our NetOps department, supporting Hunt: Showdown. This is a remote, freelance contract role based in Poland. You will be responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting Crytek's 24x7 gaming network across multiple data centers, games, and platforms. This role requires working in shifts, including night shifts. Responsibilities include monitoring and operating the data-center environment using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, and Grafana; installing, configuring, and patching system and game software; working with R&D on feature implementation; maintaining technical documentation; assisting with policy development; and operating a dynamic, highly available environment.
Must have:
- NOC Engineer or Specialist experience
- Availability for shift work (including nights)
- Excellent written and verbal English
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP
- Linux administration experience
- Automation/configuration management tools (Ansible preferred)
- Git
- Hands-on virtualization experience
- Database knowledge (Postgres, MariaDB, Redis, MongoDB)
- Familiarity with DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN (IPSec, OpenVPN), NGINX
- Knowledge of at least one scripting language (Shell, Perl, Python)
Good to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Networks, or Information Security
- Specific experience with Ubuntu/Debian Linux
- Experience with monitoring systems (Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana)
- Professional experience with Docker

Job Details
We are looking for an experienced NOC Linux Specialist to support our Hunt: Showdown NetOps department.
For this role we are looking for someone who is based in Poland to work remotely on a freelance contract.
You will be responsible for the monitoring and troubleshooting of Crytek’s 24×7 gaming network across multiple data-centers, games, and platforms.
Please note that this role requires working in shifts (including night shifts).
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and operation of the 24×7×365 hosted data-center environment using the monitoring tools Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana etc;
- Installation, configuration and patching of system and game software;
- Work closely with R&D to install, configure and operate developed features, as appropriate;
- Ensure appropriate, accurate, up-to-date technical documentation is available for systems and game logic, and environment;
- Assist with process, policy development and documentation;
- Operate and maintain a dynamic, highly available environment.
Requirements
- Experience as a NOC Engineer or NOC Specialist.
- Must be available to work in shifts (including night shifts).
- Excellent written and verbal English.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP.
- Linux administration experience.
- Experience in automation/configuration management tools (Ansible is preferable), Git.
- Hands - on experience with virtualization technologies.
- Database knowledge: Postgres, MariaDB, Redis, MongoDB.
- Familiar with the following protocols and services (desirable and will be considered as a strong advantage):
- DNS
- HTTP/HTTPS
- VPN (IPSec, OpenVPN)
- NGINX
- Knowledge of at least one scripting language (Shell, Perl, Python, etc.)
Pluses
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Networks or Information Security is preferred.
- Specific experience with Ubuntu/Debian Linux.
