Job Summary

As Head of Communications, reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of communications across the company. You’ll lead the craft across all teams, ensuring our voice is consistent, inclusive, and impactful; from how we speak to players about our games, over how we engage our employees, to how we represent ourselves to the world. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role that blends storytelling, brand building, and team empowerment in alignment with the Crytek strategy.

Must Have

  • Empower Product Development Teams to define and lead global communication strategies for game updates, community engagement, and new product launches.
  • Collaborate with publishing, marketing, and development teams to ensure messaging is player-centric and aligned with product goals.
  • Oversee social media, content creation, and influencer relations.
  • Serve as the company’s voice in business media, industry, and public forums.
  • Manage business press relations, executive communications, and crisis response planning.
  • Ensure consistency, compliance, and integrity in all external messaging.
  • Design and implement internal communication strategies that keep employees informed, engaged, and connected.
  • Partner with leadership and HR to support organizational change, culture initiatives, and cross-team alignment.
  • Foster a transparent and feedback-rich environment through clear and open channels.
  • Lead employer branding that reflects the diversity and creativity of our team to attract and retain top talent.
  • Collaborate with People & Culture teams to showcase our values, work environment, and career opportunities.
  • 7+ years of experience in communications leadership with at least 3 of these years in the video games industry.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to execute across multiple channels and audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a clear, inclusive, and engaging style.
  • 5+ years of experience in building and managing teams and mentoring talent across disciplines in the craft.
  • Ability to navigate complex situations with empathy, clarity, and confidence.
  • Passion for video games and a deep understanding of player communities.
  • Willingness to relocate to Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

  • Native or native like German language skills
  • Master of Communication
  • Language skills in one or more of Mandarin, French, Spanish, Turkish, Polish, Portuguese, or Italian.
