Job Summary

Saxo Bank is seeking a PR & Communications Manager in Zurich to lead strategic storytelling, media engagement, and brand reputation building in Switzerland. This role involves developing and executing local PR strategies, aligning with global initiatives, and positioning Saxo as a preferred choice for investors. The manager will work closely with local leadership and the global communications team, focusing on media visibility and effective messaging for local investor audiences.

Must Have

  • Grow business by developing, updating, and executing local PR strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant key journalists and media outlets.
  • Draft compelling press releases, media pitches, bylined articles.
  • Work closely with local CEO and management, global market strategists, and other key stakeholders.
  • Monitor media coverage and provide regular reporting and insights.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to local leadership on communications matters.
  • Lead crisis communications planning and response.
  • Ensure all PR activities are aligned with Saxo’s brand values.
  • 5+ years of experience in PR, journalism, or corporate communications.
  • Relevant bachelor's or master’s degree.
  • Proven track record in media relations, ideally within financial services or fintech.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to craft engaging content.
  • Fluent in German, French and English.
  • Energetic, proactive, and able to work independently while collaborating across global teams.
  • Deep understanding of local media landscape.
  • Experience in crisis communications and stakeholder management.

About the Job

As our local PR & Communications Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Saxo’s narrative and positioning us as the preferred choice for investors and traders in Switzerland. You’ll lead the development and execution of local PR strategies, ensuring alignment with our global PR strategy while tailoring strong messaging which resonates with local investor audiences.

As key responsible for all of Saxo’s PR efforts, your daily work will be based out of our office in Zurich. Here, you will of course work closely with local leadership and marketing to get our great stories into the media, but you will also become a key part of our global communications team, which includes several local PR & Communications managers across the globe as well as a dedicated team in Saxo’s HQ in Copenhagen.

You will report directly to the Head of Marketing in Switzerland, while also working closely with Saxo’s Global Head of Communications and the specialised global PR & Communications based in Copenhagen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow our business by developing, updating, and executing local PR strategies which support Saxo’s brand position, product launches, and thought leadership efforts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant key journalists and media outlets.
  • Draft compelling press releases, media pitches, bylined articles and everything else in a PR-toolkit.
  • Work closely with local CEO and management, our global team of market strategists, and other key stakeholders across the bank
  • Monitor media coverage and provide regular reporting and insights to local management and the global PR & Communications team.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to local leadership on communications matters, including media training and messaging.
  • Lead crisis communications planning and response in alignment with global protocols.
  • Ensure all PR activities are aligned with Saxo’s brand values and contribute to long-term reputation building.
  • Support the development and execution of larger global PR initiatives to help drive the global PR agenda across all markets.
  • Support with the implementation and coordination of marketing and communications initiatives.

Your Profile

  • 5+ years of experience in PR, journalism, or corporate communications — either working in media, in-house, or at an agency.
  • Relevant bachelor's or master’s degree.
  • Proven track record in media relations, ideally within financial services or fintech.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to craft engaging content across formats.
  • Creative can-do mentality with a desire to succeed with what you set out to do.
  • Fluent in German, French and English.
  • Energetic, proactive, and able to work independently while collaborating across global teams.
  • Deep understanding of local media landscape.
  • Experience in crisis communications and stakeholder management.
  • Preferably interested in investing, financial trends, and digital innovation.
