Job Description

The Occupational Safety Technician is responsible for ensuring the safety, health, and integrity of workers on construction sites, focusing on pipeline installation and maintenance. This role involves preventing accidents, ensuring legal compliance, and promoting best practices in safety, occupational health, and environmental protection. The professional will identify risks, implement safety programs, conduct inspections, investigate incidents, and ensure adherence to regulations.
Must have:
  • Identify and assess risks in work environments.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs (PPRA, PCMSO, PGR).
  • Provide integration and refresher training on safety.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits on construction sites.
  • Investigate accidents and propose corrective measures.
  • Communicate and guide workers on safe practices.
  • Prepare technical reports, risk maps, and safety documents.
  • Monitor safety indicators and propose preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with HR and Engineering for safety actions integration.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and current legislation.
  • Supervise activities like work at height, excavations, welding, PPE/EPCs use.
  • Participate in CIPA meetings and prepare APRs and PTs.

Responsible for ensuring the safety, health, and integrity of workers on construction sites and advanced fronts, with a focus on pipeline installation and maintenance activities. The professional will act in accident prevention, legal compliance, and promotion of good practices in safety, occupational health, and environmental protection.

Main responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess risks in work environments.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs (PPRA, PCMSO, PGR).
  • Provide integration and refresher training on safety.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits on construction sites.
  • Investigate accidents and propose corrective measures.
  • Communicate and guide workers on safe practices.
  • Prepare technical reports, risk maps, and safety documents.
  • Monitor safety indicators and propose preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with areas such as HR and Engineering for the integration of safety actions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and current legislation.
  • Supervise activities such as work at height, excavations, welding, use of PPE/EPCs.
  • Participate in CIPA meetings and prepare APRs and PTs.

Technical knowledge and skills:

  • Regulatory standards (NRs), especially those related to civil construction.
  • Specific risks of pipeline installation and preventive measures.
  • Development and implementation of safety programs.
  • Training and lectures on occupational safety.
  • Proper use of PPE and EPCs.
  • Labor and social security legislation.
  • Preparation of technical reports and safety documents.
  • Basic computer skills for issuing opinions and reports.
  • Knowledge of piping systems (carbon steel and HDPE).

Qualifications

--------------

  • Technical course in Occupational Safety, Building, Mechanics, or related areas.
  • Extension course in Occupational Safety.
  • Registration with the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE).
  • Driver's license category B.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, with a focus on results.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ethical and collaborative posture.
