Job Description

As an Operation Manager, you will manage manufacturing supervisors and hourly workers, focusing on EHS, Quality, efficiency, delivery, 5S, and compliance. Responsibilities include adhering to manufacturing processes, ensuring personal safety, meeting on-time delivery goals, and managing associated costs. You will also integrate new processes, participate in Lean initiatives, provide leadership, and drive continuous improvement. Additionally, your day will involve leading supervisors, promoting product quality through training, meeting production schedules, and managing staffing. This role requires reporting data, eliminating defects, and supporting company values. You will also handle administrative tasks.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 8+ years of operational experience
  • Strong Project management and ISO9001/2000/AAR M1003 knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems Oracle preferred
  • Strong team leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written communications skills

Who will you be working with?

You will be working with key stakeholders to support the plant and our operations.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the operations teams, you will be responsible for managing manufacturing supervisors and hourly workers as well as supply chain activities addressing; EHS, Quality, efficiency, delivery, 5S, work flow and compliance concerns for a given manufacturing facility.  The Operation Leader has direct responsibility for adherence to manufacturing processes, personal safety, On-time Delivery,  Capacity and the associated labor cost and indirect spending.  Is responsible to Integrate and develop new and existing processes that meet business needs across the organization.  Involved in both short-term and Mid-term production planning and reporting.  Provide the operational leadership needed to drive year over year profitability and growth.  Actively participate in Lean Transformation initiatives and activities.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Bachelor’s degree or from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 8+ years of operational experience, especially in the manufacturing environment
  • Strong Project management and working knowledge of ISO9001/2000 and/or AAR M1003 Rev.K
  • Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and statistical methodologies
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems Oracle preferred, financial controls and business tracking systems
  • Strong team leadership, team building and interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written communications skills

Training requirements:

  • Completion of my learning courses where required
  • Demonstrate ability to provide leadership and direction at all levels in manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills

What will your typical day look like?

  • Providing leadership and direction to Supervisors, hourly team leads and indirect support functions.  Including evaluations and disciplinary process.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by mentoring, reinforcing training and enforcement of corporate and site initiatives, rules and guidelines. 
  • Promote product quality through proper employee training, completion of training records, and ensuring our standard operating procedures are followed.
  • Delivering production on schedule, to meet both internal and external customer demand.
  • Driving continuous improvement by engaging people in active problem solving, by analyzing trends to solve the root cause of problems.
  • Managing the operation to meet business financial plans. 
  • Manage and coordinate staffing to achieve production goals, while cross training the team to allow for flexibility and a stable operation. 
  • Reporting data, status and results from ERP and manufacturing systems.
  • Utilize data to discover trends and eliminate sources of product defects. 
  • Support our Values, Vision and Mission along with other business objectives and projects, that allow us to solve problems for our customers and our employees.
  • Administrative and managerial standard work (training documentation, payroll processing, updating of reports, etc.)

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between

$102,500.00-$146,000.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
