Must have:
  • Design high-precision lenses, run simulations, validate and release designs.
  • Lead prototyping, testing, and root-cause analysis to ensure performance specs are met.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on integration, documentation (DFMEA, DVP&R), and early product concepts.
  • Stay current on optical tech, apply best practices, mentor peers, drive design improvements through benchmarking.
  • BS or MS in Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • Proficient in Zemax.
  • Experienced in freeform optics and lens manufacturing methods (e.g., injection molding, glass molding, diamond turning).
  • Strong grasp of optical principles, GD&T, and simulation analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving and project management abilities.

As the Optical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Lens Development: Design high-precision lenses; run simulations; validate and release designs.
  • Testing & Prototyping: Lead prototyping, testing, and root-cause analysis; ensure performance specs are met.
  • Cross-Functional Work: Collaborate with engineering teams on integration, documentation (DFMEA, DVP&R), and early product concepts.
  • Innovation: Stay current on optical tech; apply best practices; mentor peers; drive design improvements through benchmarking.

Qualifications:

  • Education: BS or MS in Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in Zemax; experienced in freeform optics and lens manufacturing methods (e.g., injection molding, glass molding, diamond turning).
  • Skills: Strong grasp of optical principles, GD&T, and simulation analysis; excellent problem-solving and project management abilities.
  • Soft Skills: Effective communicator; collaborative and detail-oriented; up-to-date with industry trends.

Salary Range: $100,000-115,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
