Paranoids AI Dev Engineer

The Paranoids' Cyber Engineering team at Yahoo is seeking a GenAI Engineer to design and implement cutting-edge GenAI solutions for enhancing Yahoo's security posture. This role involves architecting scalable applications using modern LLM technologies (AWS Bedrock, VertexAI, OpenAI) to automate security processes. The engineer will drive technical design decisions, collaborate with security teams, and ensure high code quality, making a significant impact in applying AI to complex cybersecurity challenges.

Must Have

• Design and implement cutting-edge GenAI solutions to enhance security posture
• Architect and develop scalable applications leveraging modern LLM technologies and APIs (AWS Bedrock, VertexAI, OpenAI)
• Drive technical design decisions through all phases of the product lifecycle
• Collaborate with security teams to identify AI-driven automation opportunities
• Perform code reviews, maintain high code quality standards, and ensure proper documentation
• Troubleshoot and optimize production applications for reliability and performance
• Participate in agile practices and manage delivery commitments
• BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of software development experience
• 1+ years of hands-on experience with Large Language Models and GenAI platforms
• Familiarity with data warehousing/lakehouse concepts (Databricks, Snowflake, Delta Lake)
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and feature preparation
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, distributed systems, and scalable architecture
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS services and infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices and DevOps principles

Good to Have

• Experience with Databricks
• Proven track record of building and maintaining production-grade applications

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement cutting-edge GenAI solutions that enhance Yahoo's security posture, working closely with our engineering leads to protect Yahoo's brand in innovative ways
• Architect and develop scalable applications that leverage modern LLM technologies and APIs (AWS Bedrock, VertexAI, OpenAI, etc.) to automate security processes
• Drive technical design decisions through all phases of the product lifecycle, from ideation to production deployment
• Collaborate with security teams across The Paranoids to identify opportunities for AI-driven automation and implement effective solutions
• Perform code reviews, maintain high code quality standards, and ensure proper documentation of systems
• Troubleshoot and optimize production applications to ensure reliability and performance
• Participate in agile practices and effectively manage delivery commitments

Required Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of software development experience
• 1+ years of hands-on experience working with Large Language Models and GenAI platforms (AWS Bedrock, VertexAI, OpenAI APIs)
• Familiarity with data warehousing/lakehouse concepts (Databricks, Snowflake, Delta Lake) and managing structured and unstructured security data at scale
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and feature preparation
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, distributed systems, and scalable architecture
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS services and infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices and DevOps principles
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

The compensation for this position ranges from $88,500.00 - $184,375.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
