KRAFTON AI Research Division is pioneering an AI-based game production paradigm using large language models (LLMs). We manage the full lifecycle from model design to deployment, aiming to enhance game production efficiency and create novel player experiences. Our focus is on developing intelligent gaming agents that understand environments, act contextually, and interact naturally. Research Engineers are crucial in translating theoretical insights into practical systems, leading experiments, and optimizing ML techniques for distributed learning, extending into Physical AI and interactive intelligence.

Must Have

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in AI, computer science, statistics, electrical engineering, or related fields.
• Research and development experience in machine learning, deep learning, and Foundation Models.
• Experience in model implementation and experimentation using Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, etc.).
• Experience and understanding of architectural patterns for large-scale software applications.
• Ability to clearly document and share complex experimental results and implementations.
• Ability to quickly understand the latest machine learning papers and implement experiments based on them.

Good to Have

• Publication experience in prestigious conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR (first author or major contributor).
• Research experience on model operating principles such as LLM internal structure analysis, representation learning, scaling laws, and model interpretation.
• Research or practical experience related to large-scale distributed learning and learning optimization.

Introducing Our Team (Project)

The KRAFTON AI Research Division is building a next-generation AI-based game production paradigm centered on large language models (LLMs). We directly perform the entire process from model design to training, optimization, deployment, and operation, aiming to streamline game production and create new play experiences. In particular, we focus on developing intelligent agents that can understand game environments, act appropriately, and interact naturally with players through Language Model-based Gaming Agent technology. As a Research Engineer, you will play a key role in implementing theoretical insights into actual systems and algorithms, and leading large-scale experiments and model improvements under this research direction. Furthermore, we are expanding beyond games into Physical AI and interactive intelligence, creating intelligent systems connected to the real world.

Introducing the Mission You Will Undertake with Our Team

As a Research Engineer, you will perform the following tasks:

• Design and implement methodologies, tools, and experimental infrastructure for improving Foundation Model performance and stability.
• Design, implement, and verify experiments in a verifiable form based on top-level research directions and hypotheses.
• Scale and optimize machine learning techniques for large-scale distributed learning environments.
• Implement and experimentally verify new model architectures, learning techniques, and optimization strategies across code and experimental pipelines.
• Design training and evaluation pipelines for large-scale experiments and build reproducible and repeatable experimental environments.
