[AI Research Div.] Postdoctoral Researcher - LLMs (Contract)

KRAFTON AI Research Division aims to build a next-generation game production paradigm centered on AI, leading the entire process from optimized model design to operation. They focus on automating and advancing work processes through Language Model-based Agent technology, developing Gaming Agents that understand and interact with game environments and users. This role involves understanding LLM operating principles, conducting theoretical and empirical analysis, and researching/developing core technologies to improve model performance, focusing on efficiency, stability, and reliability for various service environments.

Must Have

• Hold or be expected to obtain a PhD in AI, Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields, with degree completion before joining.
• Experience in theoretical/empirical analysis or modeling research on Large Language Models (LLM).
• Understanding of factors affecting LLM performance, such as model architecture, learning algorithms, and optimization techniques.
• Research and experimentation experience using Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, etc.).
• Experience in quantitative analysis, including model performance evaluation, benchmark design, and experiment automation.
• Ability to clearly document research results and collaborate/communicate with various teams.

Good to Have

• Excellent research achievements, such as first-author papers or awards at prestigious conferences like NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR.
• In-depth research experience on LLM operating principles, including internal structure analysis, scaling laws, representation learning, and model interpretation.

KRAFTON AI Research Division aims to establish a next-generation game production paradigm centered on AI, leading the entire process from optimized model design to operation, focusing on enhancing game production efficiency and creating new play experiences.

We are concentrating on automating and advancing work processes through Language Model-based Agent technology, and developing Gaming Agents that can understand and act within game environments and interact with users.

These Gaming Agents will breathe with players in real-time game environments, maximizing immersion. Furthermore, we are expanding beyond games into the Physical AI domain to create the future of interactive intelligence.

Introducing the Mission You Will Undertake with Our Team

KRAFTON is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher on a 2-year contract to understand the operating principles of LLMs and conduct research to improve their performance.

• As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will perform theoretical and empirical analysis to understand the operating principles of Large Language Models (LLMs) and research/develop core technologies to improve model performance.
• You will systematically understand the impact of various architectures and learning methods on LLM's expressiveness, reasoning ability, and generalization performance, focusing on proposing and verifying new analytical perspectives and algorithms to improve model efficiency, stability, and performance.
• Through this, the goal is to build foundational technologies that enable reliable LLM utilization in various real-world service environments.
