Job Description
Introducing Our Team (Project)
PROJECT ORION
PC / UE5 / OPEN-WORLD SURVIVAL
※ This position will initially be part of KRAFTON headquarters and is scheduled to transition to a new legal entity within the first half of 2026.
Introducing Our Mission with the Team
You will play a key bridging role between the art and engineering teams, maximizing the efficiency of the art pipeline and technically realizing complex visual goals.
- Art Pipeline Design and Optimization: Design, implement, and maintain asset transfer workflows from DCC tools (such as Blender) to game engines (Unreal Engine 4/5 or proprietary engines).
- Performance Optimization and Debugging: Ensure that artist-created content meets the performance constraints of the target platform, and diagnose and resolve technical bottlenecks such as frame rate drops and memory leaks.
- Tool Development and Support: Develop and support scripts, plugins, or custom tools to enhance artists' work efficiency.
- Technical Research and Vision Presentation: Research and introduce the latest rendering technologies, shader models, and content creation techniques to contribute to improving the project's visual quality.
- Collaboration and Education: Communicate with engineers to request new engine features and educate artists on how to use new technologies and pipelines.
We want to grow with someone who has these experiences! (Required Qualifications)
- Technical and Artistic Understanding: Deep understanding of the overall art production pipeline (modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, VFX) and solid knowledge of computer graphics theory.
- Programming/Scripting Skills: Proficient in one or more languages such as Python, C#, C++, or Mel script, and experience in developing automation tools.
- Engine Expertise: Expert knowledge of the technical aspects of Unreal Engine 4/5 (rendering pipeline, shader writing, optimization techniques).
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical thinking skills to independently analyze and solve complex and ambiguous technical problems.
- Communication Skills: Ability to understand both engineering and artistic terminology and mediate effective communication between both teams.
- No disqualification for overseas travel.
If you have these experiences, you are the one we are looking for! (Preferred Qualifications)
- Shader Development: Experience in developing complex shaders and material systems using HLSL or Unreal Engine's Material Editor.
- Rigging and Animation Technology: Experience in advanced character rigging, skinning, and animation system optimization (including the use of Control Rig, IK systems).
- VFX/Lighting Experience: Experience in implementing and optimizing in-game visual effects (VFX) or real-time lighting systems.
