Keywords Studios is a global technical and creative services provider to the video games and digital media industries. Established in 1998 and headquartered in Dublin, Keywords now has over 60 studios located in 22 countries around the world. Our services include art production, engineering, audio, testing, localization, and player support. We work with leading game developers, publishers, and platform holders, providing integrated support across multiple languages and platforms.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Payroll Manager to join our team. The Payroll Manager is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing the payroll department. The Manager is also responsible for developing, implementing and improving policies, standards and business processes and systems to ensure accurate and timely delivery of the company’s payroll.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and coaching to the team
  • Implement course of action/process in relation to solving payroll and internal operational challenges
  • Experience with processing both Canadian and USA payrolls
  • Overall responsibility of the company’s payroll service (managing full payroll cycle)
  • Ensure team is adhering to all legislative compliance and internal policies
  • Prepare journal entries and year-end T4s, T4As, RL1s, W2s and 1099s
  • Prepare, compile and review various year-end reports
  • Reconcile payroll monthly
  • Oversee workload of the department for the purpose of maximizing the efficiency of the work force and meeting departmental and corporate objectives
  • Communicate with a variety of internal parties for the purpose of ensuring accurate processing of payroll deductions/garnishments or other
  • Work closely with the rest of the HR Department in developing, implementing and supporting internal policies, procedures and regulations
  • Handle complex employee payroll issues involving statutory requirements and policy interpretation
  • Implement and manage all payroll-related projects as required
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned to maximize the department’s efficiency/productivity

Requirements

  • 7+ years of payroll-related experience;
  • 3+ years of staff management experience;
  • University degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience/training;
  • CPM Certification an asset;
  • PCP Certification an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
  • Strong knowledge of payroll software packages – preferably Nethris and ADP WFN
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Ability to motivate and build strong teams;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Professional attitude and strong customer service focus;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Knowledge of accounting principles;
  • Experience processing payroll for mid to large sized companies – including both salaried and hourly employees;
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, provincial legislation, acts and regulations related to payroll;
  • Excellent attention to detail; 
  • Bilingual: French and English.
