Job Description

The Payroll Specialist will manage the payroll close process for Argentina and Peru, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Key responsibilities include collecting and reviewing payroll changes, preparing journal entries for period-end closing, and coordinating with payroll service providers. The role also involves leading special projects, developing procedures for compliance, managing payroll audits, mapping journal entries, and reviewing invoices. Additionally, the specialist will provide audit support and attend to employee inquiries regarding payroll.
Must have:
  • Manage Payroll Close Process for Argentina and Peru
  • Collect, review, and send payroll changes to outsourcing
  • Prepare and review journal entries related to vacation, bonus accruals, and reconciliations
  • Coordinate with payroll service providers and regulatory agencies
  • Develop and update procedures to ensure compliance with internal control requirements
  • Manage payroll audits, annual employer match true-up, and governmental/statutory payroll reporting
  • Map payroll journal entries into the accounting system
  • Review, approve, and ensure appropriate general ledger coding for all payroll, benefit, and related invoices
  • Provide annual support for independent SOX and financial statement audits
  • Answer all employee questions and requirements
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 4+ years of accounting experience with strong knowledge of payroll and internal controls
  • Experience with integrated ERP and financial reporting systems, particularly Oracle R12
  • Experience with ADP Workforce, Office, and Google tools
  • Proven experience in payroll processing for Argentina
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ethical and trustworthy person
  • Intermediate English
Good to have:
  • Knowledge in Peru payroll
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll rules and regulations in Peru

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Payroll Close Process: Oversee the payroll close process for Argentina and Peru, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collect all payroll changes, review and send the information to our payroll outsourcing
  • Period-End Closing Activities: Prepare and review journal entries related to vacation, bonus accruals, reconciliations, and other payroll-related areas in accordance with company schedules.
  • Coordinate with Payroll Service Providers: Maintain federal, state, and local taxing authority accounts by coordinating with payroll service providers and regulatory agencies.
  • Lead Special Projects: Execute, research, and review payroll special projects, including creating or streamlining department processes, implementing new ADP upgrades, and other management-required projects.
  • Procedure Development and Compliance: Develop and update procedures to ensure compliance with internal control requirements.
  • Audits and Reporting: Manage payroll audits, annual employer match true-up, and other governmental/statutory payroll reporting.
  • Journal Entry Mapping: Map payroll journal entries into the accounting system, research exceptions, and provide solutions.
  • Invoice Review and Approval: Review, approve, and ensure appropriate general ledger coding for all payroll, benefit, and related invoices.
  • Audit Support: Provide annual support for independent SOX and financial statement audits
  • Employee attendant Answer all the questions and employee requirements.

Basic Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 4+ years of accounting experience, with strong knowledge of payroll and internal controls.
  • Systems Knowledge: Experience with integrated ERP and financial reporting systems, particularly Oracle R12. ADP Workforce, Office and google tools .
  • Payroll Processing: Proven experience in payroll processing for Argentina mainly. Knowledge in Peru payroll is a plus.
  • Multi-State Regulations: Knowledge of multi-state payroll rules and regulations, especially in Argentina, Peru is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ethical and trustworthy person
  • Intermediate English
