In partnership with production teams, we analyze player feedback to provide deep, relevant insights and support decision-making. The Player Experience Strategist works within the Player Experience Insights department, supporting portfolio-grouped productions. This role involves collaborating closely with game productions to create innovative player experiences, taking responsibility for the project's player experience, and working with experts to establish and execute strategy from conception to in-game operations.

Must Have

  • Develop and execute a player experience strategy from conception to in-game operations.
  • Drive the creation of high-impact player experience insights using varied data (game telemetry, surveys, observations, etc.).
  • Become a trusted ally in decision-making processes with key production team members and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other expert teams (Market Knowledge, Community Development) to build influential advanced insights.
  • Passionate about games and understanding player behaviors, expectations, and needs.
  • Solid experience in conducting mixed research studies and generating insights through data triangulation.
  • Good knowledge of video game development and design.
  • Ability to represent players while managing diverse stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented, capable of producing actionable insights.
  • Collaborative team spirit.
  • Highly organized, capable of leading multiple studies and projects.
  • Ability to evolve in a complex ecosystem, adapting and innovating.

In partnership with production teams and using the various methodologies at our disposal, we analyze player feedback to provide in-depth and relevant insights and support decision-making.

The Player Experience Strategist works within the Player Experience Insights department, organized to support portfolio-grouped productions with user research analysts and reports to a portfolio manager. Employees in these teams can be located in Montreal, Quebec, Toronto, Halifax (Canada), Cary (NC, USA), and Paris (France).

Job Description

The Player Experience Strategist will work closely with game productions and play a major role in creating the best, most innovative player experiences in the industry. This person will be responsible for the project's player experience while collaborating with a team of experts to establish and execute the strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a player experience strategy from the design phase to in-game operations, based on production team priorities, design pillars, and PX objectives.
  • Drive the creation of high-impact insights on player experience, using varied data (game telemetry, surveys, observations, etc.) and maximize the use and reach of these results.
  • Become a trusted ally in decision-making processes with key production team members and other important stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other expert teams such as Market Knowledge, Community Development, and others to build influential advanced insights.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about games and about understanding player behaviors, expectations, and needs.
  • Solid experience and relevant achievements in conducting mixed research studies and generating insights through triangulation of multiple data sources.
  • Good knowledge of video game development and design.
  • Ability to represent players while managing diverse stakeholders with varied priorities and perceptions.
  • Results-oriented, capable of producing actionable insights that exceed industry standards.
  • Collaborative team spirit, understanding the benefits of working with other experts to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Highly organized, capable of leading multiple operational studies and projects while keeping strategic objectives in view in extended team environments.
  • Ability to evolve in a complex ecosystem, adapting to existing standards and processes while improving and innovating.
  • Experience in research integrated into game production or a Product team, ideally in the video game industry.
