The PMO Lead will manage the Project Management Office, focusing on project governance, portfolio management, and stakeholder engagement. Responsibilities include developing portfolio metrics, managing budgets and SLAs, and ensuring timely communications. This role serves as the primary contact for functional and technical leaders, network teams, and solution architects, fostering strong relationships with customers, vendors, and key stakeholders, and leading cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
Must have:

  • Track and manage portfolio budgets.
  • Oversee Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Produce regular status reports.
  • Continuously improve project governance, processes, and procedures.
  • Manage customer relationships.
  • Engage with vendors.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Provide accurate, timely, and audience-specific communications.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for security and configuration management activities.
  • Manage daily internal team coordination.
  • Lead cross-functional teams.
  • 5+ years of experience in project/portfolio management.
  • Strong understanding of project governance, budgeting, and SLA management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing customer relationships, vendor engagements, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Knowledge of security and configuration management processes.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and data visualization.
Good to have:
  • PMP or similar certification.
  • Experience with ServiceNow as a project management tool.

Position Overview

The Manager & PMO Manager will oversee the Project Management Office (PMO) with a focus on driving effective project governance, portfolio management, and stakeholder engagement. This role is responsible for developing portfolio-level metrics, managing budgets and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and ensuring timely, audience-specific communications. The Manager & PMO Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for functional and technical leaders, network teams, and solution architects, while fostering strong relationships with customers, vendors, and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Portfolio Management & Governance

  • Develop and maintain portfolio-level metrics to monitor project performance and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Track and manage portfolio budgets, ensuring financial accountability and adherence to fiscal guidelines.
  • Oversee Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring compliance and performance standards are met.
  • Produce regular status reports, providing clear and concise updates on portfolio progress, risks, and issues.
  • Continuously improve project governance, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Manage customer relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and alignment with project goals.
  • Engage with vendors to negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and ensure deliverables meet expectations.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including functional and technical leaders, network teams, and solution architects.
  • Provide accurate, timely, and audience-specific communications to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.

Coordination & Leadership

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for security and configuration management activities, collaborating with functional and technical leaders, network teams, and solution architects.
  • Manage daily internal team coordination, ensuring alignment on priorities, tasks, and deliverables.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive project success, promoting collaboration and accountability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field; PMP or similar certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in project/portfolio management, with a proven track record in PMO leadership.
  • Strong understanding of project governance, budgeting, and SLA management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Experience managing customer relationships, vendor engagements, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Knowledge of security and configuration management processes, preferably in a public sector context.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or similar) and data visualization for metrics reporting; experience with ServiceNow as a project management tool is ideal.
