Must have:

Job Description

Avery Dennison is seeking skilled Flexographic Press Operators with at least 2 years of hands-on experience operating presses and managing technical setups. We have immediate openings for those skilled individuals to join our growing team. 

  • Operate and maintain flexographic printing presses, ensuring proper set-up of cylinders, plates, and ink fountains while troubleshooting technical issues on the fly to minimize downtime
  • Efficiently perform two-color set-ups on assigned presses, including cylinder preparation, plate mounting, ink fountain and roller adjustments, loading supply rolls, splicing webs, setting impressions, and processing set-ups with a focus on minimizing waste.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of cylinders, plates, and other tooling/parts before and during production runs, identifying and addressing defects to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Carefully review and interpret work orders, job specifications, and customer requirements to ensure accurate press set-up and production.
  • Operate assigned printing press, ensuring adherence to production schedules and minimizing downtime. Monitor print quality throughout the run, making necessary adjustment to color and ink density to meet or exceed quality standards.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience operating flexographic presses, focusing on high-quality print production, technical problem-solving, and managing ink densities and plate adjustments. 
  • Proficiency in basic math calculations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn and demonstrate proficiency using product overlay gauges and reading shop scales.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. by hand or with lift aids, and push, pull, and turn 150 lbs. with lift aids.
  • Ability to maneuver up to 1584 lbs. with a hand truck.
  • Ability to continuously stand, stoop, and bend.
  • Good vision, including color vision.
  • Ability to learn and demonstrate basic PC skills for production reporting.

Additional Information

Physical Requirements:

  • Movement: May require the ability to stand/walk for up to 80% of your shift, with frequent pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and squatting 50% of the time.
  • Lifting: May require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds 50% of your shift.
  • Environment: May require being comfortable working in an environment with varying temperatures.
