Job Description

Syniverse is seeking an Advisory Systems Engineer responsible for Microsoft Enterprise Systems technology. This role involves providing leadership within cross-functional teams and managing complex projects to enhance IT processes, drive improved IT delivery, lead standardization efforts, and ensure operational excellence. The engineer will develop enterprise technology processes, functions, and team capabilities, ensuring design solutions adhere to security best practices and controls. Responsibilities include providing guidance on enterprise IT, following a design, build, test, pilot, and deploy approach, supporting IT Operations via a 'Follow the Sun' model, and establishing alignment with business stakeholders.

General Summary

The Advisory Systems Engineer is responsible for the Microsoft Enterprise Systems technology. In this role you will provide leadership as a member of cross-functional teams and manage complex project to support the development of IT processes, drive improved IT delivery, lead standardization efforts, and be responsible for operational excellence.

Some of What You'll Do

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide Leadership for Enterprise IT Program Initiatives
•    Develop Enterprise Technology processes, functions and team capability
•    Ensure design solutions are architected with security Best Practice, and controls are adhered to, in order to provide a reduced threat landscape.
•    Provide guidance and consultation on Enterprise IT, as needed to address opportunities
•    Follow the approach of design, build, test, pilot and deploy for all projects
•    Provide support within a “Follow the Sun” model for IT Operations 
•    Establish alignment with business stakeholders when delivering technology services
•    Work with other groups to ensure continuity and coverage of the enterprise systems
•    Lead cross-functional team efforts

Identify Needs, Develop, and Maintain Enterprise Technology Services
•    Manage and execute root cause identification for incident resolution
•    Solution Design and process improvements
•    Develop project plan(s) and resource requirements
•    Generate solutions, process improvements and establish metric/reporting for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
•    Cultivate needed team knowledge and develop team skills for timely, accurate response to cyber threats

Problem Management & Resolution
•    Act as an escalation point for team problem management and complex ticket resolution
•    Drive world class execution and customer service for problem resolution
•    Lead enhancement efforts for alerts, responses, automation, and overall monitoring of enterprise systems
•    Proactively enhance system uptime through managing reoccurring issues and trouble areas
•    Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

•    BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field or equivalent work experience
•    8+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer
•    Extensive understanding of Information Systems within a Microsoft Infrastructure environment
•    Demonstrated team leadership capabilities with strong interests for developing others
•    Customer service-oriented with ability to interact and communicate effectively with end users
•    Working Experience with the following Microsoft Platforms or technologies:
      o    Windows Server 2008 – 2019
      o    Active Directory Domain Services
      o    Active Directory Federation Services (SSO/SAML, Relying party trusts)
      o    Active Directory Certificate Services (PKI)
      o    Microsoft Exchange 2010-2019
      o    Office 365 (Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams)
      o    Microsoft Azure (Active Directory, Infrastructure, Conditional Access, and migration of workloads to the Azure Cloud
      o    DNS
      o    Microsoft Intune
      o    System Center Configuration Manager experience is a plus but not required
      o    System Center Operations Manager experience is a plus but not required
•    Strong strategic focus and planning/problem solving skills
•    Strong written and oral communication skills
•    Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
•    Strong reporting, project management, and documentation skills
•    Strong time management and organizational skills
•    Team player with ability to build relationships, influence, and execute strategic goals
•    Previous professional services background related to Microsoft Infrastructure/Cloud is a plus
•    May be required to work outside of normal business hours with minimal notice and guidance
