NVIDIA is seeking a Principal Storage Kernel Software Engineer to join the block storage group, focusing on building next-generation block storage capabilities. This role involves researching and implementing distributed storage services, designing the storage software stack for NVIDIA's block solution, and developing storage features and accelerations within the Linux kernel and DPU environments. The engineer will also coordinate testing, analyze complex bugs, and drive new solutions, working hands-on with large-scale production systems.
Must Have
- Research and implement distributed storage services.
- Design NVIDIA's block solution storage SW stack, including host and DPU interfaces.
- Design storage features and accelerations in Linux kernel and DPU.
- Coordinate cluster-manager functionality testing with QA.
- Understand algorithms and component interactions.
- Analyze and identify challenging bugs in kernel modules and other components.
- Drive new solutions based on identified issues.
- 100% hands-on role involving feature design, implementation, debugging, and C coding.
- B.Sc., M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 15+ years of experience as a senior developer, preferably in a storage company.
- Comprehension of large and sophisticated systems.

We are looking for a Storage Services Software engineer to join the block storage group. You will be a member of a team that builds the next generation block storage capabilities. You will work closely with a variety of teams and architects including the networking team, HW team and external customers. You will define the Software architecture and implementation of the most advanced storage services! Services that will need to meet extreme performance and scalability demands! What you’ll be doing:
- Research and implementation of distributed storage services.
- Design the storage SW stack of NVIDIA block solution. This includes interface definition and implementation in host and a DPU environments.
- Design of storage related features and accelerations in the framework Linux kernel and a DPU
- Coordinate testing of cluster-manager functionality with the QA team
- Acquire understanding of the algorithms, the technicalities and the interaction with the other components
- Analyze challenging bugs and customer cases, identifying issues in the kernel modules and often in other components
- Drive new solutions based on any issues that arise
- 100% hands on role - large scale production system. The work involves feature design and implementation, debugging, and maintaining existing production code written in C.
What we need to see:
- B.Sc., M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related discipline (or equivalent experience).

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 272,000 USD - 425,500 USD.
You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
