Job Summary
The Pro Workflow (PWF) team at Apple's Hardware Engineering organization seeks a Pro Workflow Architect. This role involves collaborating with System Architects to identify creative use cases impacted by hardware performance, leading cross-functional efforts to enhance Apple products, and contributing to hardware performance target validation. The architect will also conduct R&D for new creative capabilities on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, present project outcomes, and maintain expertise in media and entertainment workflows. This position is crucial for elevating creative capabilities for demanding users.
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field or equivalent experience
- 10+ years professional experience leading teams in technologically demanding production environments
- Experience debugging and resolving workflow issues independently, within a team, and as a beta tester
- Proven success across creative efforts blending pre-visualized/pre-rendered, real-time/interactive, virtual/practical and traditional post-production techniques
- Proven ability to design innovative workflows and bring these into production environments
- Expert in more than one of the following: Set up, configuration, and use of video production facilities; motion capture stages; on-location capture systems; technologies and strategies for final-frame, intermediate, and interactive rendering
- Ability to collaborate and lead efforts bringing new technologies and customers to digital creativity
- Ability to maintain and prioritize projects across multi-year timelines
- Excellent communication, organization and leadership skills

Primary responsibilities of the Pro Workflow Architect includes: Collaborating with System Architects to identify creative use cases that are impacted by hardware performance. Leading cross-functional efforts to improve performance or bring new features to Apple products. Contributing to process that establishes and validates hardware performance targets for creative use cases. Working individually and collaboratively on research and development of new creative capabilities for iPhone, iPad and Mac . Creating presentation materials and regularly presenting status reports and project outcomes to peers and executive leadership. Maintaining knowledge of current and next-generation hardware, software and workflows in media and entertainment. Technical engagement with key external developers and strategic customers.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $258,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
