Job Summary
Join Turtle Rock Studios as a Cinematic Experience Designer to craft high-impact, camera-driven moments that elevate gameplay and storytelling. This hands-on role blends cinematic composition, animation, and technical execution to deliver immersive experiences across missions, gameplay transitions, and presentation layers. You will design and implement sequencer-driven mission moments, polish camera paths, and tune in-game camera feedback. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure intentional, readable, and emotionally resonant experiences while preserving player agency.
Must Have
- Design and implement sequencer-driven mission moments in-engine.
- Create and polish camera composition, animation paths, and transitions.
- Design in-game third-person camera moments to enhance clarity and flow.
- Implement and tune camera feedback, including screen shake.
- Collaborate cross-discipline to balance cinematic intent with gameplay constraints.
- Iterate quickly in Unreal Engine on camera-based cinematic experiences.
- Participate in studio playtests.
- Professional experience as a Gameplay Camera Designer.
- Strong understanding of FPS gameplay concepts and techniques.
- Expertise in camera placement and shooting interactive scenes, cinematography.
- Proven experience implementing in-game camera systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Unreal Engine, Sequencer, and camera workflows.
- Proficiency in at least one animation tool (Maya preferred).
- Strong animation sensibility paired with technical problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A portfolio or video reel showcasing gameplay and cinematic camera work.

- Proficiency in 3D Studio Max or similar animation tool.

Join our team as a Cinematic Experience Designer to craft high-impact camera-driven moments that elevate gameplay and storytelling. This role is deeply hands-on, blending cinematic composition, animation, and technical execution to deliver polished, immersive experiences across missions, gameplay transitions, and presentation layers.
You will partner with design, animation, engineering, and art to ensure every camera moment feels intentional, readable, and emotionally resonant while preserving player agency.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement sequencer-driven mission moments in-engine.
- Create and polish camera composition, animation paths, and transitions for menus, post-round moments, and vendor scenes.
- Design in-game third-person camera moments (respawns, enemy interactions, contextual transitions) that enhance clarity and flow.
- Implement and tune camera feedback, including screen shake and moment-to-moment camera response.
- Collaborate cross-discipline to balance cinematic intent with gameplay constraints, performance, and usability.
- Iterate quickly in Unreal Engine, owning camera-based cinematic experiences from concept through final polish.
- Participate in studio playtests.
Requirements
- Professional experience as a Gameplay Camera Designer on a collaborative, cross-discipline game development team.
- Strong understanding of FPS gameplay concepts and techniques.
- Demonstrated expertise in camera placement and shooting interactive scenes, with a strong foundation in cinematography.
- Proven experience implementing in-game camera systems, including technical setup and scripting.
- Strong working knowledge of Unreal Engine, including Sequencer and camera workflows.
- Proficiency in at least one animation tool (Maya preferred); 3D Studio Max or similar a plus.
- Strong animation sensibility paired with technical problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication skills and a high standard for craft and polish.
- A portfolio or video reel showcasing gameplay and cinematic camera work.
