Job Description

As a Process Support Engineer (PSE), you will guide products through their entire lifecycle, from concept to qualification. You will optimize product recipes for peak performance tailored to customer needs. This role involves collaborating with globally recognized R&D teams and working directly with customers in their fabrication facilities to develop cutting-edge solutions.
Must have:
  • Provide high-visibility customer support through on-site installations, system diagnoses, and service/repair of complex systems and equipment.
  • Develop leading-edge processes with customers to manufacture advanced semiconductor chips.
  • Create hypothesis experiments and design of experiments (DOE); analyze data with statistics; and compile reports.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems; perform multiple root cause analysis; and resolve process engineering and customer product issues.
  • Communicate with both internal stakeholders and the customer to achieve goals.
  • Apply extensive knowledge of best practices to identify innovative solutions.
  • Serve as a resource for junior colleagues and a liaison between the customer and business unit; may also lead functional teams or projects.
  • Master’s degree or PhD in chemistry/physics, materials engineering, electrical engineering, optoelectronics or related field.
  • Above 10 years of experience in the semiconductor fab or equipment industry, with a minimum of 5 years specializing in PVD technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects effectively.
  • Strong English communication skills.

What You’ll Do

As a Process Support Engineer (PSE), you’ll play a key role in guiding products through the entire lifecycle, from initial concept to final qualification. As a PSE, you will optimize product recipes to ensure peak performance tailored to our customer’s needs. You will collaborate with our globally recognized R&D teams and work directly with customers in their fabrication facilities to create cutting-edge solutions.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Draw from your specialized expertise to provide high-visibility customer support through on-site installations, system diagnoses, and the service and repair of complex systems and equipment
  • Work closely with the customer to develop leading-edge processes to manufacture the most advanced semiconductor chip, with equipment optimized to their needs
  • Create hypothesis experiments and design of experiments (DOE); analyze data with statistics; and compile reports with high-level conclusions on technically challenging process engineering experiments
  • Troubleshoot complex problems; perform multiple root cause analysis; and resolve a variety of difficult process engineering and customer product issues
  • Communicate with both internal stakeholders and the customer to achieve goals with a focus on building relationships and establishing trust
  • Apply your extensive knowledge of best practices to identify innovative solutions
  • Serve as a resource for junior colleagues and a liaison between the customer and business unit; you may also lead functional teams or projects

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in chemistry/ physics, materials engineering, electrical engineering, optoelectronics or related field.
  • Above 10 years of experience in the semiconductor fab or equipment industry, with a minimum of 5 years specializing in PVD technology. Experience in advanced packaging PVD and related process flows is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects effectively. Strong English communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas and collaborate across internal and external stakeholders.
