Job Description

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions for chip and display production, is seeking an Equipment Hardware Manager. This role involves managing hardware qualification groups, overseeing the design, development, and implementation of engineering programs. Responsibilities include developing long-range plans, creating strategic approaches, providing leadership to engineering managers, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The manager will also define performance metrics and engage with internal and external customers on engineering issues.
Must have:
  • Manages H/W qualification group, responsible for design, development and implementation of engineering programs.
  • Develops long-range plans and creates engineering or product specific strategies.
  • Anticipates future needs and initiates new approaches to qualification and Integration.
  • Provides approval guidelines and leadership to reporting engineering managers.
  • Works with business group management teams to align programs, strategies, and processes.
  • Defines performance metrics and reports on engineering functions’ progress.
  • Interfaces with internal and external customers on engineering issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages more then single product H/W qualification group, responsible for the design, development and implementation of complete engineering programs in accordance with project budgets and release schedules.
  • Develops long-range plans and creates general engineering or product specific strategies to reach goals and reviews.
  • Anticipates future needs and initiates the development and implementation of new approaches to qualification and Integration.
  • Provides approval guidelines and leadership to reporting engineering managers in the area of long-term program, strategy, and qualification and integration process design.
  • Works with business group management teams to ensure that such programs, strategies, and processes are aligned with the organization’s direction.
  • Defines performance metrics and reports on the engineering functions’ progress against specific goals.
  • Interfaces with internal and external customers on engineering issues involving the unit’s products
