Job Description

As a Product Marketing Manager at Cognite, you will be a key driver of our go-to-market strategy for Cognite’s Industrial AI and data platform, Cognite Data Fusion. You will be the voice of the customer, the expert on our competition, and the champion for our product's unique value proposition. You will work closely with product management, sales, sales enablement, field engineering, and marketing teams to ensure our product messaging, positioning, and sales enablement materials are compelling and effective.
Must have:
  • Develop product positioning and messaging informed by user research, market insights, and product understanding.
  • Scope and execute marketing content and strategies needed to reach different customer segments.
  • Become the expert on our target market, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
  • Talk regularly to users and work with analyst relations for qualitative and quantitative insights.
  • Create high-impact marketing materials and execute on product tour productions, whitepapers, website content, online self-service product demos, external media interviews & content writing, and events.
  • Equip the sales team with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.
  • Develop sales presentations, battle cards, demos, and training materials.
  • Deeply understand and advocate for our existing and prospective customers.
  • Work directly with existing customers to identify key workflows / business use cases, measure value, and co-promote success stories.
  • Serve as a key liaison between product management, engineering, sales, and the broader marketing team.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market plans for new product launches, feature releases, and market expansions.

Job Details

As a Product Marketing Manager at Cognite, you will be a key driver of our go-to-market strategy for Cognite’s Industrial AI and data platform, Cognite Data Fusion. You will be the voice of the customer, the expert on our competition, and the champion for our product's unique value proposition. You will work closely with product management, sales, sales enablement, field engineering, and marketing teams to ensure our product messaging, positioning, and sales enablement materials are compelling and effective.

What You'll Do

  • Messaging & Positioning: Develop product positioning and messaging informed by user research, market insights, and product understanding. Scope and execute marketing content and strategies needed to reach different customer segments (e.g., data scientists, IT managers, plant operators, etc.).
  • Market Intelligence: Become the expert on our target market, customer needs, and competitive landscape. Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and threats. Talk regularly to users and work with analyst relations for qualitative and quantitative insights that inform your work.
  • Content Creation: Create high-impact marketing materials and execute on product tour productions, whitepapers, website content, online self-service product demos, external media interviews & content writing, and events.
  • Sales Enablement: Equip the sales team with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed. Develop sales presentations, battle cards, demos, and training materials that highlight our product's unique value.
  • Customer Advocacy: Deeply understand and advocate for our existing and prospective customers. Work directly with existing customers to identify key workflows / business use cases, measure value, and co-promote success stories to the market.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between product management, engineering, sales, and the broader marketing team to ensure alignment and consistency in our product story.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market plans for new product launches, feature releases, and market expansions.

Who You Are

  • 2-3 years of experience in product marketing, preferably in the B2B SaaS, industrial technology, or data and AI space.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience that can span marketing, product marketing, product management, operational roles, or strategy consulting.
  • Experience working on product marketing throughout a product’s lifecycle, especially on product launch and market share building stages.
  • Understanding of industrial operations, data management, or AI/machine learning is a significant plus.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute go-to-market strategies that drive business growth.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You can translate complex technical concepts into simple, powerful, and engaging language.
  • A natural collaborator who can build strong relationships with stakeholders across different teams.
  • Ability to analyze market data, customer feedback, and sales performance to inform marketing strategy.
  • A hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality with a track record of delivering business impact, taking ownership, and relentlessly pursuing objectives.
