Glitch Productions, an independent animation studio known for its popular YouTube channel with over 14 million subscribers, is seeking an experienced Production Manager for its marketing team. The role involves end-to-end coordination and delivery of creative marketing materials like teasers, trailers, and shorts for social media and the company's YouTube channel. The Production Manager will focus on maintaining creative integrity, optimizing workflows, and collaborating with various teams to ensure project success. Responsibilities include people management, leading meetings, overseeing training, planning and managing schedules across different content streams, allocating resources, preparing reports, and ensuring quality control. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Animation, Fine Arts, or a related field, and a minimum of 3 years of experience in production management within the animation or live-action industry.

Glitch Productions is an independent animation studio based in Australia making original, long form animated shows distributed on Youtube. Our channel has over 14 million subscribers, tens of millions of views per episode and is still growing strong. Our studio is filled with incredibly talented and passionate artists that are determined to change the way animation is produced and treated in the industry. Our biggest IP; Digital Circus, has amassed over 350 million views on the pilot alone and we have a lot more still to come.

 

Role Information: 

Glitch Productions is seeking an experienced Production Manager to join our growing marketing team. The role will see you focusing on the end-to-end coordination and delivery of creative marketing materials, including a variety of teasers, trailers and shorts. These will be shown on our social media channels and Glitch Productions Youtube channel - such as our Glitch Inn reveal video or our season announcements.

The Production Manager plays a key role in maintaining the creative integrity of our projects while optimising workflows and resources. You'll collaborate closely with the Chief Brand Officer, marketing manager, artists, and technical teams to align on goals, resolve bottlenecks, and foster a collaborative, productive culture.

 

Your duties will include:

Team Leadership & Communication

  • Provide strong people management and communication, offering direction, support, and resources for your team to perform at their best.
  • Lead department meetings, daily stand-ups, check-ins, and facilitate communication across departments to resolve issues and streamline processes.
  • Oversee training and development plans to foster a collaborative and creative environment.

Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Lead, plan and manage schedules across multiple marketing content streams, including live action shoots, 2D and 3D animation, and photoshoots, ensuring timelines align with campaign goals and studio priorities.
  • Allocate resources effectively to stay within scope, delivery timelines and budget.
  • Prepare status reports and data for review by the Chief Brand Officer and stakeholders.
  • Provide project progress reports, identifying risks, bottlenecks, and solutions to keep production on track.

Pipeline & Quality Control

  • Supervise and collaborate with production coordinators and creative leads to define deliverables, set milestones, and manage asset delivery across various media formats.
  • Identify and resolve potential production bottlenecks promptly, and track progress against timelines.
  • Monitor quality, ensuring adherence to specifications, standards, and branding guidelines.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Coordinate team needs and resources with external departments, such as Brand and Merchandise, to align production goals across the business.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to schedule reviews and implement feedback in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Support continuous improvement of creative workflows by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve output quality.
 

A successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Animation, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in production management within the 2D/3D animation or live-action industry.
  • Familiarity with production management tools (e.g., ShotGrid, Asana, SyncSketch, Google Suite).
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams through change, helping teammates resolve obstacles, clear bottlenecks, and successfully deliver tasks.
  • Ability to make informed decisions, manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Keen eye for detail, assuring delivery meets both artistic and technical standards.
 

Bonus Skills:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and time management skills.
  • An understanding or experience with the arts, animation, gaming, and/or ‘internet nerd’ culture.
  • Be extremely organized and have a strong work ethic.
