The IT Project Manager will lead technology initiatives, supporting and enhancing studio operations. Responsibilities include managing the full project lifecycle, overseeing enterprise applications, collaborating with stakeholders to define project goals, managing project portfolios, and applying structured delivery methodologies. The role involves developing project documentation, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing communications, standardizing project planning, supporting testing and deployments, monitoring budgets, identifying workflow optimization opportunities, and ensuring adherence to industry standards, providing administrative support to the PMO.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of IT project management experience.
  • Solid understanding of data and analytics tools and cloud infrastructure.

Good to have:
  • Experience with software implementation in a studio environment.
  • Knowledge of digital media supply chains and rights management systems.

Summary of Position

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven IT Project Manager to join our fast-paced film and television studio. In this pivotal role, you will lead a wide range of technology initiatives that support and enhance studio operations. Working cross-functionally with internal departments, external vendors, and content partners, you will deliver forward-thinking IT solutions that align with our evolving business needs.

 

As the IT Project Manager, you will oversee the full project lifecycle—from initiation through deployment and hypercare—ensuring timely, on-budget, and high-quality delivery. You will serve as the bridge between technology and business operations, bringing structure to complex workflows while fostering a collaborative and solutions-oriented culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage IT initiatives across enterprise applications, sales & rights management solutions, data & analytical platforms and digital asset management systems.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Sales & Planning, Finance & Accounting, Business & Legal Affairs, and Content Operations) to define project goals, scope, schedule, resources, and success criteria.
  • Manage demand intake, conduct project portfolio status meetings, and prepare reports on project performance and risks as part of the PMO administration activities.
  • Apply structured delivery methodologies, incorporating emerging technologies such as GenAI where applicable.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation including plans, timelines, resource assignments, risk assessments, and communication strategies.
  • Coordinate efforts across cross-functional teams, including third-party vendors and service providers.
  • Conduct regular status meetings, manage stakeholder communications, and ensure transparency through milestone tracking and reporting.
  • Standardize project planning and execution frameworks based on the nature of each initiative (e.g., cloud migration and ERP integration playbooks).
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT), training, and technology deployments in partnership with IT Support and business units.
  • Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and contribute to vendor selection and contract negotiations.
  • Identify opportunities for workflow optimization, improved process and systems efficiency, and enhanced user experiences.
  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, data governance standards and best practices in the media industry. 
  • Provide administrative support to the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring efficient coordination and execution of project management processes and activities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of IT project management experience, preferably within media, entertainment, or high tech industries.
  • Solid understanding of data & analytics tools, cloud infrastructure and SaaS applications.
  • Comprehensive grasp of the services facilitated by infrastructure and data platforms
  • Proven success managing cross-functional projects in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environments.
  • Proficiency with project and lifecycle management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, MS Project, JIRA, Smartsheet).
  • Ability to create workflow and data movement diagrams to support stakeholder alignment and solution design.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), digital media asset management systems, and data management technology.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills; able to interface effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Cloud platform certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) are a plus.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with software implementation or system integration in a studio or media production environment.
  • Knowledge of digital media supply chains, rights management systems, and content distribution workflows.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Salesforce, Snowflake, Rightsline (or similar rights/licensing solutions.)
  • MBA or advanced business/technical degree preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with data & analytics platforms and cloud-based technologies and architectures such as Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, AWS, AI/ML. 
  • Experience with varied data sets such as financials (SAP), Sales (Salesforce), Rights (SAP IPM, Rightsline), content analytics and Title metadata.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead diverse internal and external teams across multiple locations.  Hands-on, project leader driving excellence in program execution
  • Exceptional skills in program/project management, stakeholder engagement and collaboration.  Strong execution track record for delivery.
  • Consulting experience a plus

$135,000 - $150,000
