Join Wabtec as a Project Quality Engineer in the Transit Service Group to drive quality and excellence in rail and urban transportation projects. You will be responsible for customer communication, representing the project in all quality-related matters, and ensuring the highest standards are met. Key tasks include supporting project milestones, communicating quality performance, leading First Article Inspections, managing customer issues, handling complaints using Wabtec standards (WIM, QRQC, 8D), ensuring APQP process compliance, and leading root cause analysis with PDCA/FTA methodology. Must have:
  • Responsible for customer communication on assigned projects.
  • Represent the project in all quality-related matters and ensure the highest standards are met.
  • Support the team in setting project milestones and ensure all quality-related tasks are fulfilled.
  • Regularly communicate project quality performance and achievements.
  • Lead internal First Article Inspections (FAI) to prepare for customer FAI.
  • Manage customer issues and ensure lessons learned are shared across the project.
  • Handle customer complaints according to Wabtec standards (WIM, QRQC, 8D).
  • Ensure compliance with the APQP process, including preparation of quality deliverables for the customer.
  • Lead root cause analysis using PDCA/FTA methodology.

  • Additional language is a plus
  • Willingness to travel occasionally

🚀 How will you make a difference?

  • You will join our Quality team, responsible for customer communication on assigned projects.
  • Represent the project in all quality-related matters and ensure the highest standards are met.
  • Support the team in setting project milestones and ensure all quality-related tasks are fulfilled.
  • Regularly communicate project quality performance and achievements.
  • Lead internal First Article Inspections (FAI) to prepare for customer FAI.
  • Manage customer issues and ensure lessons learned are shared across the project.
  • Handle customer complaints according to standards (WIM, QRQC, 8D).
  • Ensure compliance with the APQP process, including preparation of quality deliverables for the customer.
  • Lead root cause analysis using PDCA/FTA methodology.

What do we need to know about you?

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a manufacturing company – 3+ years.
  • Technical education is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to perform technical analysis using 8D methodology and read technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of quality tools – 8D, QRQC, APQP.
  • Fluent in English and Czech; additional language is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
