Job Description

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Public Safety Technical Architect to join their International Command Centre Software presales team. This role involves the technical sale of applications to public safety agencies using consulting-led selling techniques. The architect will act as a customer-facing technical expert, developing solutions that are technically supportable. Responsibilities include understanding complex solutions and top-level requirements, coordinating with various stakeholders, and analyzing current technology infrastructure to align with customer objectives. The role also involves improving business processes, testing systems, and recommending new systems or upgrades.
Must have:
  • Bachelors degree
  • 5 years in public safety solutions (pre-sale/post-sale)
  • Expertise in emergency call handling/telephony, CAD, or GIS
  • Knowledge of control room business processes in Latin America
  • Working knowledge of IT and IP networking technologies
  • Working knowledge of software integration technologies
  • Experience with transition planning and execution
  • Fluent in spoken and written Spanish and English
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
Good to have:
  • Fluent in spoken and written Portuguese

Department Overview

The International Command Centre Software presales team is responsible for defining, designing and demonstrating software solutions based upon our public safety portfolio in all territories excluding North America. The team also demonstrates Motorola Solutions’ wider portfolio, including body worn and in car video solutions, fixed video and land mobile radios.

The team provides specialist support to our regional sales teams concerning both our portfolio and the customer’s domain. To do so, the team possesses detailed knowledge of our portfolio as well as deep knowledge of the customer’s domain. This includes not only technical expertise but also knowledge of how our customers expect such solutions to be deployed and managed in service.


Job Description

You will be responsible for the technical sale of compelling applications to public safety agencies using consulting-led selling techniques. The applicant will serve in an architect capacity with customers and their requirements to develop solutions that are supportable from a technical perspective. The applicant will be responsible for understanding all aspects of complex solutions and top level requirements, and will coordinate with other functional areas, subcontractors, partners, and customers in finalizing requirements and addressing technical issues.

In order to propose and implement the most appropriate solutions, the applicant will review and analyze current technology infrastructure and its ability to support strategic objectives of solutions for customers. This includes working with multiple bodies within customer organizations to assist in the improvement of business processes, testing systems to ensure functionality is satisfactory and recommending new systems or product upgrades.

Basic Requirements

Candidates MUST reside in Chile. This is a hybrid role.

  • Bachelors degree

  • 5 years working as a supplier of solutions to public safety agencies (preferably both pre-sale and post-sale) in at least 3 of the following domains:

    • Emergency call handling / telephony

    • Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)

    • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and location services

  • Good understanding of control room business processes used by public safety agencies (police, fire and health) in Chile, Brazil and other countries in Latin America

  • Good working knowledge of the latest IT and IP networking technologies

  • Good working knowledge of the software integration technologies, e.g. web services and ESBs

  • Specific experience of transition planning and execution to bring solutions into service

  • Fluent in spoken and written Spanish and English, with the ability to clearly document complex technical solutions to customers.

  • Fluent in spoken and written Portuguese is highly desirable.

  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
