Job Description

Motorola Solutions is a global community focused on public safety and enterprise critical communications, video security, and command center technologies. This role, Sr. Account Manager (Federal Markets), involves building strong customer relationships, understanding Motorola Solutions' business model, and becoming a trusted advisor to customers and partners. The manager will develop and articulate account-specific strategies, orchestrate internal teams, and allocate resources to meet key account needs within the United States Federal Government Markets Division, specifically DoD, VA, and DoE Sales in the Western Area - Southern California.
Good To Have:
  • Experience selling or designing complex software and communications solutions
  • Understanding of proposal process and assembly experience
  • Technical background in RF communications, First Responder software application platforms (CAD, RMS, E911, Video)
  • Working knowledge of IP networking, Information Assurance, or Cyber Security
  • Solid working knowledge of Salesforce.com, Google Productivity Suite
  • Background in DoD or working knowledge of DoD Service
  • Sales experience with O-5 and above Commanders

This department is responsible for selling offerings to the United States Federal Government Markets Division - DoD, VA, and DoE Sales in the Western Area - Southern California.

Job Description

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Build strong relationships and customer knowledge by understanding the business model
  • Become a trusted adviser to the customer and partners using the vision, strategy, and tools available
  • Candidate will learn, develop, and be capable of clearly articulating account specific strategies for all company solutions
  • Develop and enhance strong customer relationships across multiple levels and functions
  • Orchestrate and lead the extended team to understand the account's strategy, business imperatives, and top opportunities
  • Allocate appropriate resources and obtain full collaboration of internal product groups and external partners as necessary to meet the needs of key accounts

Specific Knowledge/Skills:

  • Seeking 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or technical roles selling into or working for the various Department of Defense Services and/or Federal Law Enforcement Agencies
  • Prior experience in selling or designing complex software and communications solutions highly desired
  • Excellent communication, sales, and writing skills
  • Demonstrated track record of closing major sales
  • An understanding of the proposal process with proposal assembly experience preferred
  • A technical background to include RF communications, First Responder software application platforms (CAD, RMS, E911, Video) strongly desired
  • Working knowledge of IP networking, Information Assurance and or Cyber Security a plus
  • Applicant must be a self-motivated problem solver
  • Ideal candidate will be able to help customers envision solutions, services, and applications
  • Solid working knowledge of Salesforce.com, Google Productivity Suite strongly desired
  • Preference for background in the DoD and or working knowledge of DoD Service; Sales experience with O-5 and above Commanders a plus
  • Development and execution of sales and go-to-market strategies in a highly collaborative environment
  • Must be self-reliant and able to work effectively from a remote office
  • Must be willing to travel domestically at least 2 weeks of every month
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain a necessary security clearance as required by government contract
  • This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by [Company Name] customers.

Target Base Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 USD
