Job Description

As a Publishing Coordinator, you will be the central figure in our publishing process, ensuring authors deliver timely and quality content. You will support publishers in developing new products and serve as the primary contact for customer content inquiries. This role involves managing the full lifecycle of print and online publications, coordinating with authors and editors, and configuring online products to ensure technical functionality. You will also contribute strategically by identifying product improvement opportunities and analyzing user data for informed decision-decision making.
Must have:
  • Manage the complete process for books, journals, and reference works.
  • Maintain contact with authors and editorial boards, manage payments.
  • Configure online products and ensure technical functionality.
  • Identify opportunities to improve products and propose solutions.
  • Answer questions from customers and colleagues (marketing, sales, product management).
  • Analyze and present user data for informed decision-making with publishers.
  • Support publishers in preparing financial reports (revenue, costs, forecasts, budgets).
  • Guide authors in using systems and tools.
  • Initiate programs to better support authors and participate in related projects.
  • Solve complex technical problems with the publishing team.
  • Track technical improvements and discuss with publishers.
  • Involved in compiling instructional material for authors.
  • Manage newsletters.
  • Contribute ideas for appropriate author remuneration.
  • Support innovations and new projects.
  • Lead smaller projects and provide input for plans.

Within the Legal & Regulatory Benelux division, we are looking for a new colleague, a Publishing Coordinator for our legal market in the Netherlands.

Publishing Coordinator: Purpose of the role

You are the linchpin in our publishing process. You are partly responsible for ensuring that our authors deliver their content on time and with the right quality. In addition, you support the publisher(s) in developing new products and are the point of contact for customers with content-related questions.

Administrative and coordinating

  • Management of the complete process for books, journals, and reference works - both printed and online;
  • Maintaining contact with authors and editorial boards, arranging payment of fees, and updating our systems;
  • Configuring online products and ensuring everything works technically well;

Strategic

  • Identifying opportunities to improve our products and making concrete proposals for this;
  • Answering questions from customers and colleagues from marketing, sales, and product management;
  • Analyzing and presenting user data and discussing it with the publisher(s) to make well-founded decisions;
  • Supporting the publisher(s) at meetings, including preparing presentations for editorial boards;

Financial

  • Supports the publisher(s) in preparing financial reports (revenue, costs, forecasts, latest estimates, and budgets)

Operational

  • You guide authors in using our systems and tools;
  • You initiate programs to better support authors and participate in related projects;
  • You solve complex technical problems together with the publishing team;
  • You keep track of how technical improvements are progressing and discuss this with publishers;
  • You are involved in compiling instructional material for authors;
  • You manage newsletters;
  • You contribute ideas on appropriate author remuneration per title/product (including advances);
  • You support innovations and new projects;
  • You lead smaller projects and provide input for plans.

Who are you?

  • MBO+ or HBO level;
  • Some legal affinity is a plus;
  • You have a proactive attitude;
  • Experience with independent coordination - you have some experience with managing and organizing processes;
  • Systematic work - you can plan and execute projects well;
  • Communication skills – dealing with various stakeholders comes naturally to you: authors, colleagues, customers;
  • Excellent digital proficiency – familiar with Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Office and quickly learns new programs.
