As a Senior Controlling Analyst, you will be part of the Wolters Kluwer Benelux Controlling team, responsible for the budgeting process and acting as a sparring partner for Accounting and Information Management. Your role involves gathering information for cost forecasting within the Holding and Shared Services, monitoring actuals during monthly closings, and addressing ad hoc queries. You will also ensure accurate reporting to management and stakeholders, focusing on data quality and analysis, especially with big data and system reconciliations.
Must have:
  • Support Business Controllers with month-end closings, reporting, and analysis of (personnel) costs.
  • Prepare forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans.
  • Act as a link between IT, Accounting, and Business for clear communication and efficient information flow.
  • Manage cost centers and corporate mapping.
  • Work with dashboards (e.g., Qliksense) to improve reports and provide data-driven insights.
  • Actively contribute to the implementation or optimization of tools (e.g., Tagetik).
  • Report directly to the Director Control Benelux.
  • Master's degree in an economic field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a comparable role (reporting, controlling, audit).
  • Strong affinity with developing dashboards and reports, including in SAP.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, take initiative, and proactively seek future-oriented solutions.
Good to have:
  • Experience within the BIG 4 is a plus.
  • Knowledge of IFRS is a plus.

Senior Controlling Analyst Benelux

What will you do?

As a Senior Controlling Analyst, you will work within the Controlling team of Wolters Kluwer Benelux, which is responsible for the budgeting process and is part of the Benelux Finance department where you act as a sparring partner with Accounting and Information Management (they build and maintain our reports).

From your role, you will be responsible for collecting information from the Business for preparing the forecast of costs within the Holding and other Shared Services and following up on the actuals during the monthly closing. You are also the point of contact for ad hoc questions and you help ensure correct reporting to management or other stakeholders.

Finally, working with big data is becoming increasingly important, making it essential to monitor reconciliations between the various systems. Thanks to automation, the focus shifts to high-quality data analyses.

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Actively contributing to the implementation or optimization of tools (e.g. Tagetik).
  • You report directly to the Director Control Benelux.

The team

You will join an enthusiastic and experienced team in which you will have plenty of room for your own input and personal development. The team consists of three Financial Controllers and four Business Controllers within the Benelux. You work closely together as a team and have daily contact. You meet once a month at the head office in Alphen aan den Rijn/Netherlands.

Who are you?

  • You have a master's degree in an economic field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a comparable role (reporting, controlling, audit) within a large audit and consultancy firm. Experience within the BIG 4 is a plus.
  • Strong affinity with developing dashboards and reports, including in SAP.
  • Knowledge of IFRS is a plus.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical skills; you like to delve into the figures and actively look for causes and solutions.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
  • You enjoy working in a team, take initiative and proactively look for future-oriented solutions.
