Job Description

The QA Engineer will be part of a team adopting an Agile approach to enhance product growth and strengthen automated test capabilities. The role involves driving QA initiatives to ensure customer satisfaction with delivered products. A key aspect of the role is supporting the professional development of team members. Responsibilities include contributing to QA strategy definition and implementation aligned with Agile principles, ensuring pragmatic use of toolsets, driving a 'quality first' environment, and being accountable for the overall quality of releases. The role also involves applying and evolving Agile implementation within teams, contributing to a wider QA Community of Practice, and developing/improving Quality Engineering standards, practices, and metrics.
Must have:
  • Experienced Programmer and/or Automation Tester
  • C#, .NET, Selenium, and Python skills
  • Experience with Selenium or other automation tools
  • Self-starter, comfortable in dynamic environments
  • Agile development methodologies experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with test tracking tools
  • Proficient with Git or SVN
  • Familiarity with AWS or similar Cloud technology
Good to have:
  • Strong CI/CD build and automation pipeline knowledge
  • Experience with containerization
  • ISTQB Foundation/Advanced/Practitioner certification
  • Understanding of SDLC and agile delivery
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Ability to handle work and multitask under pressure
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, positive demeanor
  • Driven and committed to team/organization goals
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence

ROLE PROFILE You'll be part of a team which has adopted a truly Agile approach to deliver enhancements which drive the growth of the product. We are strengthening our automated test capabilities, and you will be instrumental in driving QA initiatives which ensure we delight our customers with all that we deliver. People are key to achieving this, so working with your team on their professional development will be an important part of your role. TECH PROFILE/ESSENTIAL SKILLS • Experienced Programmer and/or Automation Tester, with good technical skills • C#, .NET, Selenium and Python skills • Experience of using Selenium or other functional test automation tools • Self-starter - does what it takes to get the job done • Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment • Experienced, able and keen to work using Agile development methodologies • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written • Experience of test tracking tools • Proficient using source code management tools such as Git or SVN • Familiarity with and/or accreditation in AWS or similar Cloud technology • 3 to 6 years of relevant experience PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • Strong CI/CD build and automation pipeline knowledge. • Experience with containerization and related technologies. • SEB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing/ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation, Advanced or Practitioner Level is desirable • Understanding of the SDLC and agile delivery methodology. • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. • Ability to communicate effectively in English with all levels of staff, both orally and written. • Ability to handle own work and multitask to meet tight deadlines without losing sight of priorities under minimum supervision. • Highly motivated, self-directed individual with a positive & pro-active demeanor to work. • Be driven and committed to the goals and objectives of the team and organization. • Experience with JIRA and Confluence EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS • BE/MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or STEM degree (Desirable). • Solid English reading/writing capability required. • Good communication & articulation skills. • Curious about new technologies and tools, creative thinking and initiative taking. DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES • Contribute to the definition and implementation of a QA strategy that aligns with our Agile principles and processes • Ensure coherent, pragmatic use of toolsets across our products – reusing where appropriate • Work with the local management team to drive a ‘quality first’ environment, not limited to Quality Engineering practitioners • Demonstrate Iterative improvement in the quality of our software and be accountable for the overall quality of releases • Apply and contribute to evolving a robust Agile implementation within the teams • Contribute to a wider QA CoP, ensuring your team is empowered to do the same • Develop and improve Quality Engineering standards, practices and metrics.
