We are seeking a Senior Manual and Automation Testing Engineer with 8-10 years of experience in testing web applications. This role requires strong expertise in both manual and automated testing, with a deep understanding of web technologies, web services, and databases. The ideal candidate will have experience with automation tools like Selenium and Katalon, proficiency in SQL, and the ability to lead test strategies, mentor junior engineers, and drive continuous improvement in testing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Automation Leadership: Design and implement reusable automated test frameworks using tools like Selenium, Katalon, TestNG, or JUnit. Optimize test automation processes to increase efficiency, speed, and coverage.
- Manual Testing Expertise: Lead functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing for complex software applications. Conduct exploratory testing to uncover issues beyond automated coverage.
- Test Strategy & Planning: Create comprehensive test plans and strategies, aligning with business goals. Define test execution, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Web Services Testing: Perform SOAP and REST web services testing, including creating GET/POST requests.
- Bug Tracking & Defect Management: Identify, report, and track defects using tools like JIRA. Collaborate with development teams for root cause analysis and resolution.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to testing standards and best practices. Provide mentorship to enhance team skills.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest testing tools and frameworks, driving innovation in testing processes. Advocate for modern testing practices such as continuous testing and DevOps pipelines.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to align testing efforts with project requirements and goals.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation, including test cases, test plans, matrices, and reports. Provide accurate QA work estimates and updates on progress.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: 8-10 years in manual and automation testing of web applications.
- Automation Tools: Proficiency in Selenium, Katalon, or similar tools, with coding knowledge in languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Database Testing: Strong SQL skills, ability to write and execute basic queries, and explore databases.
- Linux Knowledge: Basic experience working with Linux systems (e.g., connecting to machines, browsing directories).
- Web Services Testing: Experience with SOAP and REST web services, and ability to create GET/POST requests for testing.
- Test Management Tools: Familiarity with defect tracking tools like JIRA, HP ALM, or similar.
- Virtualization: Experience with virtualization tools like VMware.
- Agile Methodologies: Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
- CI/CD: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and related tools like Jenkins, Git, and Maven.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team of testers, ensuring high-quality testing standards.
- Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., LoadRunner, JMeter).
- Experience in testing mobile applications and working with mobile test automation tools.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Experience in integrating automated tests into a CI/CD pipeline.
- Knowledge of security testing practices.
