Quality Analyst

CATALYS is seeking an experienced QA / Software Testing Engineer to join their remote team full-time. This role involves ensuring product quality across backend services, web applications, and APIs by designing and executing manual and automated test cases, creating test plans, identifying and reproducing bugs, and validating APIs. The successful candidate will also implement automation frameworks, conduct various types of testing, and contribute to continuous integration pipelines.

Must Have

• Design and execute manual and automated test cases for backend APIs and web applications
• Create, maintain, and optimize test plans, test cases, and test scripts
• Work closely with developers and product owners to identify and reproduce bugs
• Validate REST and GraphQL APIs using tools like Postman or Swagger
• Implement automation frameworks using Python / JavaScript (e.g., PyTest, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress)
• Conduct regression, integration, smoke, and performance testing
• Track, report, and verify bugs using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools
• Contribute to continuous integration pipelines for automated testing
• Ensure test coverage, traceability, and overall software reliability
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a QA Analyst
• Strong experience with manual and automation testing
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes
• Experience testing REST APIs and microservice-based systems
• Hands-on with test automation frameworks (Selenium / Playwright / Cypress / PyTest)
• Familiarity with SQL and databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodology

Good to Have

• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Locust)
• Experience testing cloud-based applications (Azure, AWS)
• Understanding of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
