Job Description

The Quality Designer will improve existing test methodologies, identify new capabilities, and oversee the quality plan for the World Art team. This role involves establishing quality standards, providing feedback on new features, and collaborating with Producers and Designers to optimize software performance and elevate gameplay for the Battlefield Franchise.
Must Have:
  • Leverage testing skills and methodologies to systematically test the product and share results
  • Design, develop, and lead quality strategies for owned features
  • Implement pre-integration build verification and reporting processes
  • Research and propose solutions for increasing test coverage efficiency
  • Identify risks and plan testing for releases
  • Document reproduction steps, gather test data, and assist in debugging
  • Compile data from multiple sources into cohesive summaries to communicate status and risk
  • Use different testing methodologies and analyze feature sets for automation opportunities
  • Monitor game builds and follow up on fixes to ensure quality goals are met
  • Perform design testing reviews, ensuring the design is captured and identify bugs and user concerns
  • Use development tools to guide issue identification upstream and promote defect prevention
  • Communicate status and risk through cohesive summaries
  • Serve as the communication bridge between development partners and QA teams
  • Provide technical, quantitative, and qualitative feedback
  • Represent the QA perspective effectively in meetings
  • 4+ years of experience in software development, quality assurance, or game design
  • Experience with the Frostbite Game Engine
  • Experience with mission, world and level art testing
  • Experience with defect and task tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)
  • Project Management for planning and execution of test strategy and tasks using Scrum/Agile process
  • Experience working with game engines and associated tool sets
  • Experience with game rendering, textures and VFX
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum software/game development
  • In-depth knowledge of current generation console testing and software development kits
  • Understand concepts of defect prevention and containment
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Experience with Grey/White box testing in development environments
  • Translate project metrics into data-driven decisions and strategies

About the Role: The Quality Designer position will require you to improve the existing test methodology identifying new capabilities. You will oversee the entire quality plan for the World Art team. You will report to the QV Development Director and partner directly with the Producers and other Designers to establish quality standards and provide both quantitative and qualitative feedback on new features.

Your Responsibilities

Quality Strategy and Test Planning:

  • Leverage testing skills and methodologies to systematically test the product and share results
  • Design, develop, and lead quality strategies for owned features
  • Implement pre-integration build verification and reporting processes
  • Research and propose solutions for increasing test coverage efficiency
  • Identify risks and plan testing for releases
  • Document reproduction steps, gather test data, and assist in debugging

Quality and Data Analysis:

  • Compile data from multiple sources into cohesive summaries to communicate status and risk
  • Use different testing methodologies and analyze feature sets for automation opportunities (Risk-based Testing, Data/AI-driven testing and more)
  • Monitor game builds and follow up on fixes to ensure quality goals are met
  • Perform design testing reviews, ensuring the design is captured and identify bugs and user concerns before they make it into software.
  • Use development tools to guide issue identification upstream and promote defect prevention.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Communicate status and risk through cohesive summaries
  • Serve as the communication bridge between development partners and QA teams
  • Provide technical, quantitative, and qualitative feedback
  • Represent the QA perspective effectively in meetings, ensuring quality standards are prioritized.

Mentorship and Team Support:

  • Lead improvements and knowledge sharing across teams
  • Promote professional growth within the QA team
  • Mentor and support team members in implementing quality strategies

Our Requirements:

Experience and Knowledge:

  • 4+ years of experience in software development, quality assurance, or game design
  • Experience with the Frostbite Game Engine
  • Experience with mission, world and level art testing
  • Experience with defect and task tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)
  • Project Management for planning and execution of test strategy and tasks using Scrum/Agile process
  • Experience working with game engines and associated tool sets
