Job Description

ByteDance is seeking a Research Engineer, Computer Vision to join its Pico team. The team is dedicated to developing AI technology in fields like 3D data assets and digital content consumption. Responsibilities include conducting cutting-edge research and development in 3D vision, especially the 3D digital content creation of human face and body, transferring advanced technologies to PICO products, and exploring new products with artificial intelligence technology at its core. The ideal candidate will have a MS/Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related technical field and research and practical experience in areas of computer vision, including 3d face modeling, editing and animation, explicit and implicit representations of human body and face, and human/Face generative models. Proficiency in algorithm design and implementation, with strong coding abilities in C/C++ and Python, is required for this role.

Must have:

MS/Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related technical field
Research and practical experience in computer vision
Proficiency in algorithm design and implementation
Strong coding abilities in C/C++ and Python

Good to have:

Experienced in implementing and optimizing complex and performance-critical systems.
Self-drive and ability to work independently.
Good communication skills and collaborate well with team members.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: • MS/Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related technical field • Research and practical experience in one or more areas of computer vision, including but not limited to (preferring candidates with publications in top-tier venues such as CVPR, ICCV, SIGGRAPH): - 3d face modeling, editing and animation - Explicit and implicit representations of human body and face, e.g. Nerf, 3d GS, Codec Avatar - Human/Face generative models • Proficiency in algorithm design and implementation, with strong coding abilities in C/C++ and Python, is required for this role Preferred Qualifications: • Experienced in implementing and optimizing complex and performance-critical systems. • Self-drive and ability to work independently. • Good communication skills and collaborate well with team members. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $194000 - $410000 annually.​
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​

We cover 100% premium coverage for employee medical insurance, approximately 75% premium coverage for dependents and offer a Health Savings Account(HSA) with a company match. In addition to Flexible Spending Account(FSA) Options like Health Care, Limited Purpose and Dependent Care. ​
Our time off and leave plans are: 10 paid holidays per year plus 17 days of Paid Personal Time Off (PPTO) (prorated upon hire and increased by tenure) and 10 paid sick days per year as well as 12 weeks of paid Parental leave and 8 weeks of paid Supplemental Disability. ​
