This role is for a Sales Specialist in Data & Analytics for FICC/Equity Sales & Trading businesses at LSEG, a global financial data and analytics leader. Based in Tokyo, the specialist will propose solutions, understand client workflows, and close deals for the flagship financial information desktop platform. The role involves strategic client engagement, co-creating innovative solutions, and working in an international, English-speaking environment, focusing on top-line revenue growth for major financial institutions.
Must have:
  • Propose data & analytics solutions to FICC & Equity Sales & Trading businesses
  • Understand client workflows and challenges, conduct demos, propose solutions, and close deals
  • Collaborate with relationship managers, customer support, marketing, and inside sales teams
  • Wholesale experience (2+ years) in financial Data & Analytics or financial institution
  • Solution-based sales approach and strong closing skills
  • Understanding of Sales & Trading business (foreign exchange, bonds, interest rates, or equities)
  • Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English

Data & Analytics Sales for FICC / Equity Sales & Trading Business

We are a global leader in "Financial Data × Financial Analytics" headquartered in London. Our data and analytics solutions are recognized as industry standards and are used by financial institutions and corporations in over 190 countries worldwide. They support business decision-making across a wide range of areas, including securities trading, M&A, mid-term business planning, and ESG investment promotion. In addition, through a strategic partnership with Microsoft, we are jointly developing next-generation data analysis and modeling solutions.

We are now expanding our Data & Analytics Sales team responsible for our flagship financial information desktop platform. The target clients are FICC/Equity Sales & Trading departments and asset management divisions. A key appeal of this role is the ability to take a strategic, high-level view of clients’ global expansion and presence, and propose how our solutions can help realize their goals from the ground up.

This is a highly international environment where you will work in English daily through training, meetings, and collaboration. Beyond simply localizing overseas digital transformation (DX) cases for Japan, you will have the opportunity to co-create innovative solutions with executives and specialists at major financial institutions, potentially making Japan a leading example globally.

Role Responsibilities

  • Propose data & analytics solutions to FICC & Equity Sales & Trading businesses
  • Understand client workflows and challenges, conduct demos, propose solutions, and close deals
  • Collaborate with relationship managers, customer support, marketing, and inside sales teams in Japan and overseas

Relationship management is handled by Account Managers, allowing you to focus on creating and closing new business opportunities with existing clients.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Wholesale experience at financial Data & Analytics provider or financial institution (approximately 2 years or more)
  • A solution-based sales approach and strong closing skills
  • Understanding of Sales & Trading business in at least one of the following areas: foreign exchange, bonds, interest rates, or equities
  • Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (training, product materials, and meetings are mainly conducted in English)
  • Sales experience in a fast-paced environment in global company is preferred
  • Willingness to develop career in Financial X Technology industry is a plus

In the Sales & Trading division, we helped shift away from commoditized rate competition and supported top-line growth through solution-based sales. Previously, market data terminals and internal customer information were siloed, making it difficult to offer client-centric solutions. By integrating our market data and client company data on Microsoft’s communication tools via our platform, it became easier to uncover solution ideas during client meetings, leading to improved top-line performance.
