We are seeking a Microbiologist with experience in Research and Development to work evenings (2:30pm to 11:00pm) Tuesday through Friday and AM shift (10:00am to 7:00pm) on Saturday. As a key contributor to the Microbiology team, you will be responsible for designing, documenting, and testing instruments and consumables to support the company’s product lines. Your duties will include executing protocols, writing reports, and executing laboratory functions to support the commercial readiness of our products. You will also perform microbiological testing, daily data analysis for completed assays, and initial inspection of incoming consumables.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Scientific field
  • 2 years experience in a lab setting
  • 1+ year Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques
  • Knowledge of GDP and GLP
  • Strong focus and attention to detail
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt
  • Good organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
Good to have:
  • Microbiology specialization
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations
  • Ability to work under time constraints
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently

Description

 

We are seeking a Microbiologist with experience in Research and Development to work evenings (2:30pm to 11:00pm) Tuesday through Friday and AM shift (10:00am to 7:00pm) on Saturday.
 
You will be a key contributor and critical to the success of the company. As part of the Microbiology team, you will be responsible for designing, documenting, and testing both instruments and consumables to support the company’s product lines. You will be responsible for executing protocols and writing reports. As part of the Microbiology team, you will help build up toward the commercial readiness of our products and will execute laboratory functions.
 
Primary Duties:
  1. Perform microbiological testing to support ongoing study protocols as well as testing of new instruments, AST panels, and consumables.
  2. Daily data analysis for completed assays.
  3. Perform initial inspection of incoming consumables.
  4. Process biological specimen samples using aseptic techniques and lab safety protocols.
  5. Coordinating with other teams and departments
  6. Create and present reports on conducted experiments, and failure investigations.
  7. Participation in regular lab operations included running experiments, maintenance, cleaning, and routine tests.
  8. Perform other duties and projects related to lab and department operations as requested by management.
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Scientific field, Microbiology a plus
  • 2 years experience in a lab setting as a scientist
  • 1+ year Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
 
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques, good documentation practices (GDP), and good laboratory practices (GLP)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and FDA Quality System Regulations is advantageous preferred
  • Strong focus and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize accuracy while following best practices in a fast-paced industrial laboratory environment.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changes in task priority and able to work under time constraints.
  • Good organizational skills, communication, teamwork, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently (after training) to complete assigned tasks
