This SCM Project Management Intern role at Nissan in Smyrna, TN, involves coordinating cross-functional meetings, collaborating with Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, and Procurement to identify inefficiencies and drive digital innovation. The intern will utilize data analysis for cost studies and strategy development, complete a continuous improvement project, and present proposals to leadership. The role requires a self-starter pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field, with strong Microsoft Office skills, especially advanced Excel.
Must have:
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional meetings with internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, and Procurement functions to identify inefficiencies and understand opportunities for digital innovation
  • Utilize data analysis to gather data insights, identify and address problems, perform cost studies, develop business case details, and develop strategies for future implementation
  • Complete a Kaizen, or continuous improvement, project and deliver a proposal to executive leadership
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree program in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field
  • Must be a self-starter and capable of working through ambiguity
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint
  • Possess advanced level Excel skills including complex formulas and macros
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Ability to perform work onsite at Smyrna Vehicle Assembly – Smyrna, TN
Good to have:
  • MBA, MS Business Analytics, or MS Supply Chain Management preferred
  • Working knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, and SQL

We are currently looking for a SCM Project Management Intern to join our team.

A Day in the Life:

  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional meetings with internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, and Procurement functions to identify inefficiencies and understand opportunities for digital innovation
  • Utilize data analysis in conjunction with Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, and Procurement knowledge to gather data insights, identify and address problems, perform cost studies and develop business case details, and develop strategies for future implementation
  • Complete a Kaizen, or continuous improvement, project and deliver a proposal to executive leadership for implementing the recommended improvement
  • Take advantage of opportunities through structured amenities such as plant tours, networking with other interns, meeting with Nissan leadership, and job shadowing with other Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, and/or Procurement teams

Who We’re Looking for:

Required:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree program in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field; MBA, MS Business Analytics, or MS Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter and capable of working through ambiguity
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint
  • Possess advanced level Excel skills including complex formulas and macros
  • Working knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, and SQL is preferred
  • GPA of 3.0 or above (Candidates will be required to provide an official or unofficial transcript during the application process for verification.)
  • Ability to perform work onsite at Smyrna Vehicle Assembly.
