SDE - Frontend (II/III)

Upstox is seeking an experienced SDE II/III – Frontend Engineer for a 6-month contractual role. This position involves working on high-impact projects to build scalable systems and deliver exceptional user experiences for millions of users. The role requires hands-on development and close collaboration with product, design, and backend teams to develop and ship new features.

Must Have

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant frontend systems and features.
• Own projects end-to-end from technical design to deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver new features.
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.
• Conduct code reviews, ensure coding standards, and mentor junior developers.
• Investigate and resolve complex frontend performance and production issues.
• Continuously improve frontend architecture, tooling, and development processes.
• 4+ years of experience with React.js, Redux, Next.js, SCSS, Tailwind CSS, HTML, and CSS.
• Proficiency in frontend tools like Webpack, Enzyme, with understanding of component-driven development and state management.
• Strong understanding of web standards, browser performance, rendering pipelines, and HTTP fundamentals.
• Proven ability to own projects end-to-end and solve complex problems.
• Experience writing clean, testable, and scalable code in fast-paced environments.

Who you are:

• 4+ years of experience building modern web applications with React.js, Redux, Next.js, SCSS, Tailwind CSS, HTML, and CSS.
• Proficiency in frontend tools and frameworks such as Webpack, Enzyme with a deep understanding of component-driven development and state management.
• Strong understanding of web standards, browser performance, rendering pipelines, and HTTP fundamentals.
• Proven ability to own projects end-to-end, solve complex problems, and break them into actionable tasks.
• Experience writing clean, testable, and scalable code in fast-paced, product-driven environments.
• A self-starter with an ownership mindset and a passion for creating impactful user experiences.
