The Role
We're seeking a passionate and experienced Software Developer (SDE 2 and above) to lead the codification of insights and key performance indicators (KPIs) for our products. You will be a crucial part of our engineering team, working to translate complex business and product analytics into robust, production-ready code. Your work will directly enable our business to make real-time decisions and measure our success with precision.
You will work closely with data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to understand their analytical needs and translate them into scalable, automated solutions.
How you'll make an impact:
- Codify and Automate KPIs: Design, develop, and maintain the software and data pipelines that calculate and expose our core business and product KPIs.
- Data Pipeline Development: Build and optimize data pipelines using Python and SQL to ensure data integrity and timely delivery of metrics.
- Infrastructure Management: Utilize modern platform tools like Kubernetes (K8s), Jenkins, and Airflow to manage and orchestrate our data processing jobs.
- Version Control: Implement database schema changes and data migrations using tools like Liquibase to ensure a consistent and reliable data environment.
- Collaboration: Partner with analytics teams to understand their statistical models and requirements, and then build the engineering solutions to support them at scale.
- Code Quality: Write clean, well-documented, and testable code. Conduct code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
What we're looking for:
- 3+ years of professional experience as a Software Developer with a focus on data engineering or analytics-focused development.
- Expertise in SQL for complex data manipulation and strong proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and data processing.
- A strong foundation in Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA).
- Good to have if you own hands-on experience with modern DevOps and platform tools, including Liquibase, Jenkins, Kubernetes, and Airflow.
- A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- A strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and an ability to think analytically to solve complex problems.
- Good to have - experience working in a direct partnership with data scientists or business intelligence teams.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure will be a plus
- Good to have experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Snowflake, Databricks).
- Added advantage if you have Experience with real-time data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka).
- Experience with geospatial data and tools like QGIS, with a preference for geospatial capabilities within Snowflake will be a plus.
- Working knowledge of project management tools like Jira and agile methodology, and familiarity with MS Office tools like Excel and PowerPoint.
