The Software Development Engineer in Test II (SDET - II) focuses on ensuring the quality and performance of highly scalable web and backend applications. Collaborating with development and product teams, the SDET II ensures products meet high standards of quality and reliability. Must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 6+ months experience in web and API test automation.
  • Proficiency in Java or JavaScript.
  • Experience with Playwright, Selenium, or equivalent web testing frameworks.
  • Experience with API automation tools like Postman, REST-assured.
  • Understanding of REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SDLC.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of UNIX/Linux systems and scripting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job Details

Role Purpose:

The Software Development Engineer in Test I (SDET - I) will focus on ensuring the quality and performance of highly scalable web and backend applications. In this role, you will design and implement automated tests for web (Playwright/Selenium) and API-based solutions, leveraging your knowledge of Java or JavaScript. Collaborating closely with development and product teams, you will ensure products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

You’ll have an opportunity to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment while exploring new tools and methodologies. A problem-solving mindset, willingness to innovate, and attention to detail will make you successful in this role.

T-Shaped Engineering Expectation:

As part of the engineering culture, you will adopt a T-shaped engineering approach. In addition to developing expertise in test automation and quality engineering, you will collaborate across the development lifecycle, including understanding software architecture, contributing to design discussions, and ensuring robust and scalable test solutions.

Example Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts for web and API testing using Playwright, Selenium, or equivalent tools.
  • Design and implement test strategies, test cases, and plans based on technical and business requirements.
  • Automate API testing to validate performance and functionality.
  • Perform regression testing and identify bugs through systematic and exploratory testing.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure comprehensive test coverage and efficient issue resolution.
  • Continuously improve test automation processes, tools, and techniques.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ months of experience in test automation for web and API applications.
  • Proficiency in Java or JavaScript programming languages.
  • Hands-on experience with web testing frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with API automation tools (e.g., Postman, REST-assured) and a good understanding of REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of UNIX/Linux systems and scripting.
