Trek Bicycle is seeking a SEA Territory Manager to support sales strategy implementation and development in Singapore, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The role involves enhancing the dealer base, driving sales, and improving operational efficiencies. Key responsibilities include developing sales plans, setting sales objectives, monitoring dealer performance, managing inventory for partners, providing product and sales training to retailers, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of field sales experience, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a customer-first mentality, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse business areas and cultures within the APAC region. A passion for cycling is a plus.

SEA Territory Manager

Position Summary

Reporting into the Country Manager, the premise of this role is to support the implementation of the strategy and development of the Sales function within the company, ensuring an entrenched culture of operational excellence and initiative. The company is looking to enhance the dealer base to drive sales and develop operational efficiencies with the help of this appointed candidate in the setup of the Singapore and SEA, HK and TW business in Singapore. Expectations are that this role will be highly involved in setting up the dealer base for Singapore (mid-term) before engaging the business's key distribution partners (long term), working together to drive the overall performance of all sales activities to achieve sales quotas and promotional activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of annual sales revenue and sales gross profit plans with the Country Manager and Finance Controller by implementing sales strategies, analyzing trends and results.
  • Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for dealers and territories - projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.
  • Drive sales for Trek and Bontrager Bikes and Accessories by monitoring dealers’ performance, and handling orders, prospecting, and running the sales process.
  • Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price at dealer base by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
  • Establishes and adjusts selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand.
  • Maintain dealer commitment & competency through MBRs, QBRs, and annual Win the Season events & completions of associated continuous improvement action items, hold dealers accountable.
  • Develop the dealer channel strategy through Market Share Analysis (MSA) and its implementation to grow market share by understanding the competitive environment & identifying areas of opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain & act on territory planning initiatives to maximise market share & sales growth
  • Develop Dealer Program and Dealer channel strategy to appoint and develop retailers, sets up key sales KPIs to maximize our position in the market.
  • Drive initiatives of Inventory management for dealers and distributor partners towards DIS targets of 90 and 120 days.
  • Continuously monitor dealers’ status and develop their capability - check AR risk, ensure dealer assessment process, find potential dealers, etc.  
  • Provide product and sales training to Trek retailers in the market.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and embody the Trek brand.
  • Prepare regular reporting for sales results and consolidates data of each dealer/territory.


 

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of field sales experience
  • Excellent strategic and problem-solving with strong relationship building skills
  • Experience in field sales, sales operation, and sales management
  • Capability in analyzing numbers and finding implications
  • Customer first mentality, with a strong drive to personally take care of people
  • Demonstrate the ability to be self-motivated and work remotely
  • Proactive problem-solving approach with the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven critical thinking and collaborative skills for regional business coordination
  • Analytical, highly numerate, and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with stakeholders
  • Ability to lead and drive projects and processes across different business areas
  • Ability to create and implement plans, processes and procedures
  • Ability to adapt to difference cultures in and around APAC
  • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally as required
  • Excellent strategic and problem-solving with strong relationship building skills
  • Sound computer proficiency especially Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint 
  • A general understanding of the bicycle industry and a passion for cycling (plus)
