Job Description

Senior Accountant have a strong accounting foundation and are diligent in their attention to detail. They will support our revenue close process and other critical aspects of the financial statement close. You enjoy learning and are open to new ways of doing things. You are not afraid to be yourself, experiment, make mistakes and learn from them, ask questions, or voice your concerns.
Must have:
  • Performing month-end closing procedures including the preparation of journal entries, maintenance of sub-ledgers and GL account reconciliations
  • Performing review of revenue transactions and related contracts to ensure appropriate revenue recognition
  • Assisting with the implementation of new systems
  • Calculate royalty payments to our authors and perform reviews to ensure accurate computation
  • Assisting with financial statement audits
  • Conducting ad hoc financial/operational analysis as required
Good to have:
  • Understanding of new revenue recognition guidance as prescribed under ASC 606
  • CPA
  • Master’s degree in accounting
  • Public accounting experience

Job Details

What you’ll do:

  • Performing month-end closing procedures including the preparation of journal entries, maintenance of sub-ledgers and GL account reconciliations

  • Assisting with the implementation of new systems

Experience you’ll bring:

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Understanding of new revenue recognition guidance as prescribed under ASC 606 preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and analytical abilities

Requirements:

  • CPA preferred
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of related or equivalent experience; or 3+ years with an advanced degree.
  • Master’s degree in accounting preferred
  • Some public accounting experience preferred
  • This is a remote role; however, applicants located within 45 miles of our Draper, UT, or Westlake/Dallas, TX offices should expect to work on-site Tuesday through Thursday, with remote flexibility on Mondays and Fridays. Pay Transparency:

The US base salary range for this role is $86,300 - $120,000 USD. Actual compensation will depend on location, skills, experience, and other factors. Additional benefits and bonuses may apply.
