NXP’s Advanced Automotive Analog (AA) Business Unit’s mission is to provide a broad portfolio of differentiated analog, mixed-signal, wireless, and energy management solutions that enable our customers to realize compelling green, safe, connected, and secure products for the automotive market. In the AA business Unit, the Advanced Power System (APS) Segment drives the business of NXP’s leading mixed-signal Safe power management products for automotive and industrial markets. We are looking for a Senior IC Design Leader with expertise in DC-DC converter for our Advance Power System in Safe power management. This role involves owning design activities from product definition to full qualification, meeting automotive norms, defining design strategy, providing technical guidance, and ensuring adherence to industry standards.
Must have:
  • Align with product definition and design architect to acknowledge the product definition and specification.
  • Own design activities during all NPI phases development and design revision until full qualification completion.
  • Meet product requirements, following automotive norms & standards, delivering outstanding expected deliverables and NPI KPIs.
  • Define and drive design strategy for complex ICs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the IC design team.
  • Conduct design reviews and ensure adherence to industry standards and design methodologies, with high accountability for project schedules.
  • Oversee design and verification execution to ensure technical objectives are met.
  • Coordinate technical planning, including risk analysis and mitigation strategies.
  • Act as a technical point of contact for internal teams (e.g., systems, marketing) and external customers.
  • Collaborate with layout engineers to optimize physical design and verification teams for pre-silicon completion.
  • Align technical actions across different design disciplines, such as analog, digital, and layout.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in IC design technology and industry trends.
  • Mentor and growth are team members to be successful and to achieve next steps.
  • 20+ years of experience in IC development.
  • Strong expertise in analog design, Design Lead of mixed signal IC, including design for ESD & EMC robustness.
  • Proven experience with DC-DC converter High Power, High Frequency in automotive domain.
  • Knowledge of the Cadence IC tools, modelling tools like Simplis, Matlab or System C.
  • In traceability requirements of the V-cycle (DOORS NG tool or equivalent).
Good to have:
  • Experience with cross functional teams
  • Good communication skills to operate in a global environment
  • Fluency in English language both oral and written

Together with a worldwide design team, we develop application specific standard products which integrate high performance analog functions as well as digital logic in high voltage CMOS processes.

Your Responsibilities:

We are now looking for a Senior IC Design Leader with advance expertise in DC-DC converter for our Advance Power System in Safe power management. You will be in charge of:

  • Align with product definition and design architect to acknowledge the product definition and specification
  • Own design activities during all the NPI phases development and design revision until the full qualification completion
  • Meet product requirements, following automotive norms & standards, delivering outstanding expected deliverables and NPI KPIs.

NXP APS / Safe Power management is well recognized as a modern R&D organization with a benchmarking ways of working. We are a diversified team with more than 20 designers, with high expertise, high energy, an open collaboration environment and eagerness for continuous improvement..

You will be more specifically lead design activities for DC/DC converter IP Team, closely with digital designers as well as definer, verification, test and validation engineers to support both pre-silicon and post-silicon activities.

Your Profile:

  • 20+ years of experience in IC development.
  • Strong expertise in analog design, Design Lead of mixed signal IC, including design for ESD & EMC robustness.
  • Proven experience with DC-DC converter High Power, High Frequency in automotive domain.
  • Experience with cross functional teams and good communication skills to operate in a global environment with multiple partners in Europe and Asia.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
  • Fluency in English language both oral and written.
  • Knowledge of the Cadence IC tools, modelling tools like Simplis, Matlab or System C.
  • in traceability requirements of the V-cycle (DOORS NG tool or equivalent)
