Must have:
  • Lead the management of indirect tax controversies, including audit defense and voluntary disclosure agreements, ensuring effective resolution and compliance
  • Drive cost savings initiatives through comprehensive reverse audits and refund reviews, identifying opportunities for recovery and efficiency
  • Conduct advanced research, state tax nexus determinations, taxability analyses, and quantification of potential sales and use/indirect tax exposures
  • Provide expert support and analysis on complex indirect tax questions, serving as a key resource for internal stakeholders
  • Oversee acquisition integrations to ensure seamless compliance with indirect tax processes and regulations
  • Develop, document, and implement robust policies and procedures related to indirect tax, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Identify and recommend technology tools and processes for indirect tax automation, aimed at reducing manual work and enhancing compliance efficiency
  • Manage product taxability configurations and system enablement, including nexus settings and product mappings, to ensure accurate tax reporting
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff, while supporting the Assistant Director, Indirect Tax, on all related matters

We will count on you to:

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in tax/accounting
  • 5+ years of experience with US Indirect Tax audits and reporting, including sales and use tax
  • Proficiency in Advanced Excel, Alteryx, or similar database tools for manipulating large data sets.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and government agencies
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple deliverables effectively
  • Strong analytical skills with innovative problem-solving abilities, capable of navigating complex tax scenarios
  • Familiarity with systems such as Oracle and Vertex, and tax reporting processes requiring data collation from multiple systems
  • Demonstrates a strong desire for professional growth and a proactive mindset to develop leadership skills

Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $72,000 to $144,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
