Job Summary

Scientific Games is seeking a Senior Animator to develop and animate 2D characters, props, and backgrounds based on storyboards and concept art. The role involves understanding and conveying character personalities through animation, collaborating with the creative team, and creating animatics and in-betweens. The animator will also be responsible for adding effect layers to enhance animations and participating in feedback sessions to refine work.

Must Have

  • Develop and animate 2D characters, props, and backgrounds based on storyboards, concept art, and creative briefs.
  • Understand and accurately convey game character or objects personalities, expressions, and movements through animation.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to ensure consistency in animation style and adherence to project guidelines.
  • Create animatics, layout poses, and in-betweens to produce smooth and fluid character animations.
  • Participate in animation reviews and feedback sessions to refine and iterate on animations.
  • Able to create effect layers like rays, glows, glints, and lightings on the given art to make the animation more attractive.
  • 4+ years of experience in animation for films, television, video games, slot or mobile gaming industries or relevant.
  • Strong knowledge in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects.
  • Strong knowledge in Spine 2D.
  • Strong understanding of animation principles, such as timing, spacing, squash and stretch, and anticipation.
  • Strong knowledge in particle simulations, visual effects, and other physics dynamics.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. 4+ years of experience in animation for films, television, video games, slot or mobile gaming industries or relevant.

2. Strong knowledge in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects.

3. Strong knowledge in Spine 2D.

4. Strong understanding of animation principles, such as timing, spacing, squash and stretch, and anticipation.

5. Strong knowledge in particle simulations, visual effects, and other physics dynamics.

6. Blender 3D (optional)

7. Digital Drawing skills (optional)

8. BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) or relevant course
