Job Description & Summary

Senior Associate Valuations

As a senior associate within the Valuations team, you will provide your clients with advice that enables them to make better decisions in a deal context. For example, performing valuations for clients that are buying or selling a business, helping companies in strategic decision-making, supporting the client in optimising the value potential of their business and post-deal services such as Purchase Price Allocations (PPA) and impairment tests.

What will you be doing?

You value companies in pre-deal situations, or other settings requiring important decision making, for accounting purposes (such as PPA, impairment test) or in a legal or tax context, for example an internal reorganization. Furthermore, you will work on business modelling. You will work together with many other disciplines within the deal cycle, such as: M&A strategy, due diligence, corporate finance and carve out or integration.

Our clients range from large multinationals to mid range clients. We work within the industry teams Consumer and Industrial Products & Services, Technology Media & Telecom, Energy & Utilities and Financial Services, and you will be part of one dedicated industry team.

In your role as a senior associate you will have your own responsibilities within the larger project and you will act as the link between the senior and junior team members. You will guide and coach the associates on your projects and depending on the project setting you are responsible for the client contact.

We will guide and coach you in your development to become an expert in your discipline.

In your daily job you will work on:

  • The purchase or sale of an enterprise or business unit: what is an enterprise worth, what are the synergy benefits, and what is a sensible price?;
  • Financial statement analysis (post-deal): performing and/or reviewing Purchase Price Allocations after closing the transaction and providing support with the annual impairment testing procedures;
  • Fairness opinions and second opinions with respect to mergers and acquisitions;
  • Drawing up and assessing of financial projections;
  • Value creation analysis: why does an enterprise lag behind the competition and how can additional value be created?;
  • Construction of M&A and valuation models for clients which they will use to make decisions and continue monitoring the performance of a business after a transaction;
  • Valuations required for disputes between parties, for example as a result of an acquisition;
  • Tax structuring: through value determination and modelling, providing insights into the financial impact of various tax decisions.

Does this describe you?

You are ready for a next step in your career and you like to specialize in valuations. You are ready to make an impact with your advice based on your business acumen and finance knowledge. You are a team player and you love to work on several projects at the same time. Furthermore:

  • You have a master degree in (Business) Economics, Business Administration, Econometrics, (Industrial) Engineering, Actuarial Studies or a technical study programme. If you have a degree in another discipline and have an affinity with the field described above, we would also encourage you to apply for this position;
  • You have at least 2 years of working experience within the valuations environment, for example as an associate in a Big 4 or Corporate Development in a M&A team;
  • Valuations knowledge and experience with financial modelling;
  • You have good English language skills, and knowledge of the Dutch language is preferred!
