Job Description

As a Senior Cloud Engineer at BetaDwarf, you will architect and develop cloud systems for Vaultbreakers, a hardcore fantasy extraction ARPG, ensuring seamless, fast, and reliable play. You'll join a small team of experienced engineers, focusing on designing and operating scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure, implementing automation, and supporting various game services. The role requires a driven, self-motivated individual ready to contribute ideas and take responsibility in a collaborative environment.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience working with Unity3D.
  • Experience with all stages of development cycles for games as a service.
  • Track record of influencing cross-functional architects and high performing teams to define architecture.
  • Experience using JIRA for project and task management.
Must Have:
  • Designing and operating cloud infrastructure that supports many thousands of concurrent users.
  • Implementing automatic scaling with Kubernetes to minimize hands-on requirements.
  • Driving automation in deployment (via TeamCity) to shorten iteration time and democratize access to cloud systems.
  • Designing resilient services that continue to perform smoothly even when third-party platforms like Steam, Xbox Live, or Twitch experience outages, or when GCP performance varies.
  • Supporting both stateless and stateful services for matchmaking, chat, lobby, rich presence, inventory, guilds, purchasing, community events, quests, rankings, leaderboards, and more.
  • Establishing system-wide monitoring, defining on-call processes, and reducing downtime through strategies like feature flags.
  • Architecting cloud solutions that can extend beyond Vaultbreakers and support future titles.
  • 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Proven experience in architecting highly available systems, including load balancing and horizontal scaling using Kubernetes.
  • Strong ability to apply a quantitative approach through modeling, iterative prototyping, analysis, and tools to design and develop robust, secure, and high performance cloud services that meet demanding developer and player experience goals.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with experience working in medium, cross functional teams.
  • Hands-on programming experience in full stack service development, including C# (including unsafe code), ASP.NET Core, and both SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Passionate about gaming and excited to build experiences that players will love.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be at the heart of our most ambitious project - Vaultbreakers, a hardcore fantasy extraction ARPG. Your focus will be on architecting and developing the cloud systems that make seamless, fast, and reliable play possible. You will work in a small close-knit team of 6-7 highly experienced engineers, you being one of them.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designing and operating cloud infrastructure that supports many thousands of concurrent users.
