Iron Mountain Data Centers is seeking an expert Senior Database Developer for its Data Enablement team. This role involves designing, developing, automating, and deploying advanced dashboards and visualizations to provide key analytical business insights and drive process improvements. The developer will apply standard software development life cycle principles on the MSBI stack, troubleshoot complex scripts, and leverage expertise in database administration, warehousing, ETL, and BI visualization to recommend solutions and shape technical roadmap strategy.
Must have:
  • Work with Microsoft, Tableau, and Google Business Intelligence tools.
  • Translate business requirements into intuitive information dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
  • Construct and maintain scalable Tableau online infrastructure.
  • Perform data analysis, including data profiling in data warehouse.
  • Script SQL Views leveraging data warehouse for Tableau ETL and reporting.
  • Partner with ETL Developers to integrate new data into the data warehouse.
  • Create and/or perform peer review of Business Intelligence reports or ETL code.
  • Develop and enforce change management and versioning processes.
  • Migrate Business Intelligence artifact changes between environments.
  • Assist with performing change impact analysis for work sizing and estimation.
  • Review current data structures and flows, recommend optimizations/automation.
  • Provide education to team and end-users on key reporting systems and databases.
  • Support existing OLAP and BI system solutions in SSRS, Tableau and Power BI.
  • Assist with performing upgrades and acceptance of the reporting environment.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience creating BI reports, interactive dashboards and visualizations.
  • 3+ years of experience with T-SQL scripting.
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2017 and above.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC best practices with BI/DW methodologies.
  • Good understanding of data warehousing concepts.
  • Willingness to work M-F 1-10PM IST.
Good to have:
  • User Experience (UX/UI) expertise.
  • Understanding of and exposure to the DAMA Data Management framework.
  • Experience with data solution engineering.

Iron Mountain Data Centers is looking to hire an expert Database Developer to join our Data Enablement team. As an experienced developer, you will take responsibility for the design, development, automation, and deployment of advanced dashboards and visualizations that provide key analytical business insights, enable data-informed decisions, and drive business process improvements. To succeed in this role, you should have hands-on expertise in the application of standard software development life cycle principles on the MSBI stack, be capable of applying judgment to plan and execute your tasks, be eager to respond to technical queries and requests from all levels of the organization, be able to quickly troubleshoot complex scripts, procedures, and automated packages within a global data warehouse, and leverage a deep understanding of database administration, warehousing, ETL, and BI visualization tools, techniques, and methodologies to recommend solutions and drive technical roadmap strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with consumers, analysts, and technical staff to plan, design, develop, test, document, automate, implement, and enhance e2e business analytics capabilities using Microsoft, Tableau, and Google Business Intelligence tools (e.g. SSRS, Power BI, Tableau Online, Data Studio, etc.)
  • Translate business requirements into customized design and implementation of intuitive information dashboards, reports, and visualizations that leverage data marts and are fully optimized for performance and repeatability
  • Construct and maintain an appropriate, scalable, and easy-to-use infrastructure with Tableau online that promotes scalability, sustainability, and that leverages Tableau recommended best practices
  • Perform data analysis, including data profiling in data warehouse, to obtain a good understanding of data availability, relationships and nuances for consideration of BI solution design
  • Script SQL Views that leverage the data warehouse to enable Tableau ETL and reporting capabilities
  • Partner with ETL Developers to Integrate new data into the data warehouse using ETL Tools and scripting methodologies. (e.g. T/SQL, SSIS, Cozyroc, Powershell, C#, Python, .Net, HTML/XML, JSON)
  • Create and/or perform peer review of Business Intelligence reports or ETL code from other analysts and developers to ensure that all code and reports conform to standards and guidelines
  • Develop and enforce change management and versioning processes surrounding new releases
  • Migrate Business Intelligence artifact changes between development, pre-production, and production environments and maintain a proper development cycle
  • Assist with performing change impact analysis to assist with work sizing and estimation
  • Review current data structures and flows and recommend optimizations/opportunities for automation
  • Provide education to team and end-users on key reporting systems and databases
  • Support the existing OLAP and BI system solutions in SSRS, Tableau and Power BI
  • Assist with performing upgrades and acceptance of the reporting environment when necessary

Key Skills, Requirements and Competencies:

  • Professional BI certification, degree in IT discipline, or equivalent DWH hands-on experience required
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience creating BI reports, interactive dashboards and visualizations
  • 3+ years of experience with T-SQL scripting; creating/managing, tables, views, indexes, and data loads
  • 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server 2017 and above
  • User Experience (UX/UI) expertise is a plus; examples of user satisfaction
  • Strong understanding of SDLC best practices with an emphasis on BI/DW methodologies
  • Good understanding of data warehousing concepts
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, along with strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to pay attention to details in a fast-paced environment with multiple initiatives assigned
  • Consistently tracks and meets tight deadlines; escalates roadblocks and challenges rapidly
  • Passionate about working within the Agile Scrum methodology and framework
  • Understanding of and exposure to the DAMA Data Management framework is a big plus
  • Experience with data solution engineering is a plus
  • Willingness to work M-F 1-10PM IST
