The Senior Director of Program Management is responsible for establishing and leading the structure, governance, and rhythms for high-quality, on-time delivery of cross-functional initiatives. This role will architect playbooks, processes, metrics, and resource planning for program execution and measurement. The Senior Director will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Strategy, and Leadership to drive strategic alignment, delivery discipline, and operational excellence. The role focuses on casting vision, providing direction, and leading ministry efforts to achieve Life.Church's mission of reaching people for Christ through innovative technology like YouVersion.

Job Details

The Senior Director of Program Management is primarily responsible for establishing and leading the structure, governance, and rhythms that enable high-quality, on-time delivery of cross-functional initiatives. This role will architect the playbooks, processes, metrics, and resource planning that define how programs are scoped, executed, and measured. The Senior Director will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Strategy, and Leadership to drive strategic alignment, delivery discipline, and operational excellence across the portfolio. This role is responsible for casting vision, providing direction, and leading ministry efforts to outcomes that further Life.Church’s mission and reach people for Christ.

What You’ll Do

    • Establish and scale the Program Management Office as a strategic function within the organization, defining the PMO charter, mission, engagement model, and success metrics.
    • Develop and implement scalable governance frameworks for managing portfolios, programs, and cross-functional initiatives.
    • Establish consistent delivery standards, playbooks, tools, and metrics across product, engineering, and operational workstreams.
    • Oversee a portfolio of high-impact, cross-functional programs aligned with company objectives, translating strategic priorities into actionable roadmaps and timelines.
    • Partner with Finance to align budgeting, capacity planning, and resource allocation with strategic priorities.
    • Lead cadence planning such as OKRs, quarterly planning, sprint oversight, and executive reviews.
    • Implement escalation frameworks and prioritization tools to manage blockers and support confident decision-making.
    • Monitor delivery health through metrics like velocity, milestone progress, risk, and team capacity.
    • Lead and develop a high-impact team of Program and Project Managers.
    • Create career paths, onboarding frameworks, and continuous learning tracks for team members.
    • Provide strategic direction, coaching, and feedback to support executional excellence and ownership.
    • Foster a team culture grounded in accountability, feedback, and continuous improvement.
    • Promote cross-functional collaboration by serving bridging communication across Product, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Strategy, and Operations.

Skills Needed to Succeed

    • Ability to self-motivate, make independent decisions, and solve problems with innovation.
    • Effective at multi-tasking and time management to meet strict deadlines while remaining flexible and open to change.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to clearly explain complicated processes and foster partnerships.
    • Effective at process and organizational management to coordinate, structure, and provide vision to projects.
    • Strong leadership skills and understanding of developing and guiding others.
    • Deep understanding of agile methodologies and hybrid delivery models.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Product Management, or a related field; MBA or related graduate degree preferred.
    • 12+ years of experience in program management, operations, or delivery enablement.
    • 5+ years in a leadership role managing Program Managers or PMOs.
    • Proven success building or scaling PMOs in product-led or SaaS organizations.
    • Expertise with tools like Jira, Asana, Confluence, Productboard, Aha!, or similar.
    • Familiarity with biblical tech or mission-driven digital platforms preferred.
