Job Description

The Content Developer for NextGen at Life.Church is responsible for developing, writing, and editing spiritual growth content for parents, leaders, and kids. This role involves partnering with directors to provide creative support, developing training content for leaders, leading parent communication strategies, and creating resources for campus teams. The goal is to deliver outcomes aligned with Life.Church’s mission to reach people for Christ.

Must Have:
  • Develop clear content goals, strategies, and plans for various training and communication.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams and contractors for content guidance across media.
  • Provide guidance and resources for campuses on content implementation best practices.
  • Partner with Directors on curriculum elements for kids and preteens.
  • Discover and lead new ways of reaching parents, leaders, and kids.
  • Research strategies and track data to increase engagement for specific audiences.
  • Stay updated on development stages, needs, and cultural trends for each audience.
  • Remain current on new platforms and techniques for resourcing leaders and serving kids.
  • Use Life.Church Style Guide to edit and proof content for accuracy, grammar, and style.
  • Delegate and edit content from contractors, volunteers, or teammates.
  • Collaborate on content for blogs, podcasts, and other Life.Church platforms.
  • Self-motivation, independent decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective multi-tasking and time management to meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal, written, oral, and interpersonal communication.
  • Effective organizational management processes.
  • Strong leadership, writing, and editing skills.

The Content Developer for NextGen is primarily responsible for developing, writing, and editing spiritual growth content for parents, leaders, and kids at Life.Church as well as partnering with the Director of LifeKids Content and the Director of Preteen Content to provide creative support. This role develops training content for LifeKids Leaders, leads strategies for parent communication, and supports the Central NextGen Team by creating resources to partner with campus teams. The Content Developer utilizes their skillset to deliver outcomes that align with the direction of their team to further Life.Church’s mission and to reach people for Christ.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop clear content goals, strategies, and plans for LifeKids and Loop Leader training, LifeKids Buddy and Switch Support training, and parent communication.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams and contractors to provide content guidance for video, graphic elements, social media, photography, web experiences, and in-person experiences.
  • Provide guidance and resources for campuses on best practices for implementing content.
  • Partner with the Director of Kids Content and the Director of Preteen Content on curriculum elements.
  • Discover and lead the way in developing new ways of reaching parents, leaders, and kids.
  • Research strategies and track data to increase engagement for specific audiences.
  • Stay up to date on development stages, felt and unfelt needs, cultural trends, and other specifics about each audience.
  • Remain current on new platforms, techniques, and opportunities for resourcing leaders, equipping parents, and serving kids and preteens.
  • Use the Life.Church Style Guide to edit and proof content and curriculum elements for biblical accuracy, grammar, and style.
  • Delegate and edit content by contractors, volunteers, or teammates.
  • Collaborate on content for blogs, podcasts, and other Life.Church platforms as needed.

Skills Needed to Succeed

  • Effective at building productive working relationships by fostering trust, collaboration and communication
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar equivalent preferred
  • 1-3 years of related work experience
